I was just curious if anyone ever changed their ignition wires, and if there was any benifit to it? I've got 250,000 mi on my original wires ..

i replaced my st ignition wires with the vitec ones. just because i wanted the yellow ones and i thaught they would be bigger but i was wrong

yeah, change them. You can cause damage to the ignition system if the resitance in your wires gets too high. Given that the 5S-fe has a distributor, this risk is lower compared to distributorless, but it does affect cold start and performance. The degrading of the wires happens over time and use. I would change the wires every 100K or so because they are not that expensive.

Oh, some advice on changing them:
only disconnect 1 wire at a time and install the replacement, that way you will not risk crossing wires. you may want to look into some aftermarket ones as well. |

You can get NGK plugs and wires through clubplug.net for a pretty good price. I believe they are based out of Canada too.
