I thought Tokyo Drift was alright, but I agree with you that the mindset wasn't the greatest. When I first saw it, I thought it was going to be a bunch of redneck racing in the US, but then he got sent to Tokyo and I was like WTF? lol I love drifting and what not, but the movie IMO was poorly setup and the animation graphics in some of the drift scenes weren't great at all
I'm hoping they have a nice comeback in this movie with the stuff they lacked on in Tokyo Drift.

1st one is the best and will remain the best. Atleast they some what kept a story line with those two. Now if would of had the same actors and some of the same story lines all the rest would have been just as good.

If anyone is curious that movie is being shot in Atlanta with some kind of cuban/miami vibe to it. A couple of guys on my local racing forum there cars are actually in it. A Porche 911 GT3, NSX, 69ish Charger and a few others. Most of the guys on my local forum are from here and living over there, or stationed there.

I think a thing to keep in mind is relationship between fast and the furious franchise and what is happening in automotive world.

The first film introduced us to a boy dream car line up that could "hypothetically" be affordable to anyone who is not a millionaire.

Second movie brushed up on teeneager boy dream car line up that is "more" affordable to anyone under age of 25. Movie, of course also featured music indrustry.

Third movie brushed up on what is happening in usa-development of drifting.

Fourth movie came about after franchise fans have been begging the industry to bring back original crew line up.

Fifth one? I wont reveal the plot but how many times can they be running away from authorities?!

What made the franchise special from the get-go is that they showed boy dreamers how cool their dream cars were by making a 1.5 hour long commercial for them. As they move farther and farther from THAT... I think they are getting closer to becoming yet another movie that never ends.... (like ohh I dont know planet of the apes movies 1-323232323)

I think they should have the GT4 in at least one of the movies.

That's why I liked Wangan Midnight the movie over all this bs... Cheesy lines, cheesy cars, I'm done with it. I am also proud to say I don't own a single one of these movies. Have I seen them? yeah and just about every time disappointed. Only part 1 was alright and tokyo drift (even a lot of BS in that one too). Official trailer. I spotted a couple of Chargers, easy. A Nissan GTR, Ford GT, and I couldn't really tell what the silver car is at 2:00. Nothing new or exciting, just a mishmash of the other four movies brought together in one last effort to squeeze as much money as possible out of the series, it seems.

This one isn't ricey at all man. The first few, yes, because that was the style/ trend back then.

Actually, I stand corrected, none of them are "ricey".

A ricemobile is a car, such as a mid to late 90's Honda Civic, that has a big exhaust, steelies, a crappy intake, either 1 to 4 colors (or more) for the paint, and some dents. Oh yeah and it's either auto or manual with no major engine mods.

None of them were like that haha

I still say the plot of this movie just doesn't make sense. If you are familiar with the other movies, then you are aware that the timeline goes The Fast and the Furious > Fast and Furious > Tokyo Drift/2 Fast 2 Furious. So, where does this movie fall? It can't come after Fast and Furious but before Tokyo Drift or 2F2F. Between those movies, everybody scattered, ran off in different directions. So... now they're all supposed to be in one place and they all magically know each other? And Paul Walker is supposed to be running around burning what I assume is drug money instead of being a cop? I guess I'll just have to see it to figure out how they are trying to play it off.

The Rock? Seriously? Now it's like Race to With Mountain with muscle cars instead of a cab and Vin Diesel and Paul Walker instead of a couple of kids.

And does anybody else think the little girl at 1:49 looks demonic? Giving me nightmares here.

I for one love these movies, (not the 3rd one so much, don't get me wrong it wasn't bad or anything, i just wanted to see more than 0 original cast in the movie, apart from the last 15 seconds that Vin did for FREE) I saw the first one the summer it came out on VHS. yes VHS. <- (i wore the tape out within 2 years..) before then, i didn't know cars could look like that. before i watched that movie i was just going to get an economical car that was safe and reliable. then i saw this movie and all a sudden i was a 10 year old that wanted a car just like those. then around 2005 i stopped wanting a car JUST like those and wanted a car that looked cleaner, one that wasn't bright orange or any other bright attention attracting colors. <-(which is why i bought my celica and GT-4 bumper, and maybe later the hood.. celica=clean sleek looking car, celica+GT-4 bumper=greatness) i guess my main point here is that the fast and the furious is what got me into cars to begin with. and to answer the first post, yes, I CANT WAIT. iv been keeping tabs on this movie since before the 4th came out. then i saw the 4th on the midnight showing on Thursday night. i thought it was the 2nd best one made, (first one being #1, and my favorite movie of all time. (bring on the flame for that last statement)) for me the series goes 1,4,2,3 in order from best to worst. (#2 beat #3 because it still had 2 original characters, Bilkins <- (i don't know his real name) and Paul walker.

My buddy was in Japan before the movie and was telling me that cops cant catch most cars so if they go so fast the have to let you go. I was shocked when the movie came out and said the same thing. He also said those guys drive so good the cops tolerate a lot. He said he was down at he docks and these guys were drfiting on piers and docks.

By far the best few quotes from the movie are in that scene.

On the other hadn, I don't understand, Dom knows that Letty is dead earlier in the movie when hes talking to Vince.
How would he know this is Tokyo drift is the last one, because I thought letty dies in that "story" but its not revealed to dom and everyone untill the 4th?

Ok - so I saw the LFA (stood up and cheered for Han, LOL) but I didn't see a Supra at all... wasn't really looking for it.

Great flick. Much better than the rest of the series. Tokyo Drift is still top of the list for me though... aside from this new one anyways.

Decent story, great action - I wasn't bored at all throughout it. Nicely done.

Yea i understood that part, was just confused when letty died, which movie it was in.

She supposedly bit the bullet in the "Fast & Furious" flick, so the fourth movie, 3rd story, w/e .

But supposedly shes alive and boosting cars in Asia somewhere (10 second clip after the credits). Not sure if this will lead up to another F&F flick, but if its anything like "Fast Five" I'd be down...

... who am I kidding, I'd watch it anyways. LOL

All my friends say that as well, but for some reason its probably the last on my list.
Its just not the same without the original characters..

OK - well, in that sense; I will agree with you.

However...

... The original characters couldn't act to save their lives... and that ruined it for me in the first show. Then they tried to pull a Paul Walker & Tyrese combo in the second one, and I almost threw up. "Whats up Bra?" - gimme a ****ing break.

For me Tokyo drift was like a breath of fresh air. It revolved around a huge culture at the time it was release (drifting) which was phenominal, kind of like a reboot. It was a classic Japan story about honor, with a modern twist on it. Not to mention, there were some really nice cars in that one. The acting wasn't all that great, but it didn't really matter to me, because of the charater development, which you don't get out of a sequel using the same characters...

My 2 cents really, but thats why Tokyo Drift stands out for me.

i dont really trust articles written over a year ago but i was looking around and found one that is recent saying that the 6th is green lighted already due to the attention the 5th one was getting. (before its release) same thing happened last time. (the 5th was green lighted before the 4th one was released.)

some have tried and failed. ex: (red line--it was HORRIBLE!) i love the fast and furious series. but a part of me sorta wishes they would have stopped with the first one, since in my opinion it is the best and will always be the best.

I loved the movie! I was about 7th row back cause the theater was packed.

NO NO NO NO.... best quote in the movie: "11 MILLION DOLLARS?!? sounds like a WHOLE LOT of VAGINAL ACTIVITY TO ME!!!



IMHO this was the BEST one of them all in terms of action and story could have done better with the cars (ie an ek here, a 240 there a celica or somethin about)

KAOS- There was a black Supra at one of the races, right before Dom wins the Porsche for Brian. You could only see the front bumper and headlights, but it was there. Then later, they are testing out their cars in the garage and they wrecked it into a pillar. You can just barely notice it's a Supra, and I probably wouldn't have noticed at all if I hadn't seen it at the race earlier.

i didnt notice it at the race, but i did see it go into the pillar. it was a sad part.
