Does any modification need to be done to get the gt4 hood to fit? I thought you had to use the gt4 front end in order to get it to fit properly.

hmm good question, it doesnt look like it. but, i dont know.the guy said the bonnet would fit fine on a st204. if i were to get it, is it just a matter of unscrewing and rescrewing? never looked into removing the bonnet before
EDIT: found this
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=63523
also, i found out what wrc means. it means it has holes for the hood spoiler, and non wrc obviously does not.
but i still dont know if i need anythign to just swap over the hoods

wrc was the rally version of the gt 4. both are about the same but like you said the wrc did have the hood spoiler. and as for the hood if you have an st204 you will need to make your hood latch an inch longer to fit the gt-4 hood. and if you dont want a gap on the front of your car you will need the gt-4 front bumper to.

its really not to hard. all you have to do is extend the latch and inch and then it will fit, or you could buy a gt-4 hood latch.

ok, the latch doesnt seem like to much of an issue, however, what about the gap people say that is left. im not sure if there even is a gap. im leaning towards keeping it stock and saving 650

but this raises a question, how did other cars like in the clicky above get the hood/front bar to sit flush. maybe cut a gt4 front bar? idk.

a. I think Veilside made a specific gt4 front bar hence no gap.
b. As you mentioned, often people graft the top half of the gt4 front bar to the Veilside front, again no gap.
c. Also, you can build up on the Veilside front ie. fibreglass so that it eliminates the gap.

bringing this back from the dead because ive come across a cheap hood.
so here is where im at now...
im keeping my stock bar on (96 facelift) and getting ssiii splitters front/rear.
now that i have spotted the cheap bar id like to know more about the installation
as i linked earlier (http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=63523)
i still have no idea as to what i need to do so my questions is...

what parts other than the st205 hood do i need if any at all.
is it just a simple swap over? i wont be doing this personally but i dont want to buy a hood and then realise i need to spend $1000 on parts for example./
thanks, swift help would be appreciated.

For the hood, it's just a swap over.
You'll need to extend your hood latch, there should be a sticky about that.
As for the bumper to sit flush, if you get a GT4 front bumper, you don't need the GT4 bar/rail thing, just get some extended bolts and throw a bunch of washers on until it sits flush with the hood.
hope that helps smile.gif
