Hey guys, I have a blown head gasket and a warped head on my 5sfe. I was wondering what would be the easiest swap to do, engine wise.

I'm not in any position to tell you which swap is easiest, because I've only done one before. But I would think that to stick with a 5SFE would be best. You wouldn't have to do any ECU re-wiring or anythinglike that, unless it's a JDM 5SFE. Correct me if I'm wrong guys/gals. If you want more POWER, now that's a totally different story.

-Hope I helped, Ryan

EDIT: Oh, and at the top of this ENGINE/TRANSMISSION/MAINTENANCE section, there's a FAQ sticky with all types of information on engine swaps and more.

easiest swap would be to install a new head.

How did you warp it/determine it was warped?

if you are going to swap and have the money, do a 3S-GTE out of the celica GT-4. otherwise stick with a replacement 5S-FE.

Easiest swap is another 5SFE. Don't buy a "JDM" one, because the 5SFE wasn't produced overseas... it's 2.0L brother the 3SFE was, which will run like doggy doo doo on the 5SFE electronics.

Fix your motor, unless you have about $6000 kicking around that you can put towards a 3SGTE swap.

I'm not really an asshole, but I play one on the internet.

From what you guys have said, I think I am going to stick with the 5sfe.
