Hey guys,
For all you that have done the GT4 hood and bumper conversion, how did you mount the front license plate? I was thinking about either making a mounting bracket or just drilling 2 new holes in the plate. What solutions have you guys tried that seemed to work?

Thanks,

Do you have a picture? There should be holes on the bumper lower grill that are spaced apart to fit the Japanese license plates, but not the USDM license plates (for obvious reasons). Please check this and confirm.

* 520 mm by 110 or 120 mm (20.5 by 4.5 inches) - in the bulk of European countries and many of their former overseas territories.
* 372 mm by 135 mm (14.5 by 5.3 inches) - in Australia and some other Pacific Rim countries, about halfway between the dimensions of the other two standards, longer than Western Hemisphere plates but taller than European ones.
* 300 mm by 150 mm (12 by 6 inches) - in the majority of the Americas.

The issue this thread was regarding was that the holes on the American license plates are spaced out differently than the Japanese plates which the GT-four bumper was designed to accept. So this requires you to either have a separate bracket, or to drill new holes in your American license plate. schmooot posted some good information for reference.

Try mounting your license plate on there, and you'll understand what this thread is about wink.gif.

hey guys know this thread is a lil old but though i would update it for future US gt4 conversion ppl. i was looking through here and was gonna just drill holes for the US plates but remembered they sold this at autozone for less than 10 bucks Bell Adjustable License Plate Mounting bracket. pictures not mine but they look like this

and mount like this (note the back was a nut and can slide you can adjust it to the distance you need. and thats just some guys grill, can get a bid washer like he did as well )

i just bought em gonna install it latter today so i ll take a couple of pics and let you guys know how it works out but i think it should work out perfect.
