Lets hear some of your injuries you've had in your lifetime.
I'll start off with mine. Yesturday I fractured and displaced my scaphoid bone in my wrist and spent 12 hours in the hospital, was put under to have it re-aligned, and need surgery to put pins in my wrist to temporarily hold it in place. I fell down a set of stairs while snowboarding. We were sliding the rail alog the stairs. It was stupid. Me and my crew are filming a video. I got the trick I waanted, but i was not satisfied with how it looked so i wanted to do it again. I sketched out on the run-in and should have stopped but went for it anyways. Ended up landing backwards with my board parallel to the stairs, and i guess i put my hands out and thats when it happened. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

There wasn't necessarily an injury that lead to this, but back in August 08 I had to have my upper jaw removed for a bit.
Doctors (surgeons) sawed it out right where your upper lip meets the gums, cut 6 strips front to back in the bone in the roof of my mouth, stretched it out, and put it back in with 16 screws. To this day, when I get sinus pressure I can feel it on the roof of my mouth and my top teeth. Thread specific: when I was a freshman in high school (2001) I was skating a halfpipe at a local park with some friends. I came up to tailslide a section of the coping, and my board cut into what appeared to be an inch of wax on the coping. Board stopped, but I didn't. I came down on the coping with my right knee, bounced outwards, and fell 15ft to the bottom of the pipe on the same knee. Instantly couldn't feel my leg, and my knee swelled up to the size of Grapefruit. My douchebag friends took me home, instead of the hospital. My parents were unamused to say the least, but said, "meh. We'll take you to the emergency room tomorrow". Couple surgeries later, and my kneecap was happily reunited with the appropriate ligaments. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

I destroyed the skin that connects my thumb to my index finder
I was at a climbing / rappeling wall ( top ) getting ready to rapell, when one girl who was almost hlaf way down teared her gloves and went into panic mode, so I react it and with no harness I grab onto the rope and went down to help her complete the wall safely, but instead she hugged me and I couldn't hold her weight and mine with no gloves, I gain speed and the rope burnt my skin. tore 2 ligaments on my right foot ( at the same wall ) there were different levels ( store high ) so as part of the training I use to jump from 3 stores high and ket running like nothing happened, of course I was 15 and rhough I was made of steel so decided to add a spin to it ( literally ) lol so I jumped backwards, I didn't complete the half turn and landed with one foot, leading to said torn ligaments fbroken front toohth, tonge split in half and the remaining pice of the tooth went across my lower lip. Roller blades + beautiful new neighbor + stupid kid trying to impress her + wet paviment = blood everywhere lol. I did a backflip but had no traction when landed so hit my chin against the sidewalk. I have many others but those are the stupid ones that I kind of deserve for not thinking things through lol -------------------- ![]() |

I get up off the ground after falling 8 feet out of the air onto my arm.I look over and my forarm is making a 90 degree angle 0_0. Go into shock, wake up in the ambulance.. I was snowboarding my my dads steep ass mountainous property, i had mad a ghetto jump off an old stump. It was getting dark and i went off it wrong, put my weight back and smacked my head on the stump. 8 staples later i now have a huge scar on the back of my head.. |

took a jump on my mountain bike and somehow my foor got between the front tire and the fork, when i landed i went over the handle bars with the bike following me still conected to my foot. landed hands then face first on gravel, only to slide into a small wooded area. cut my face legs and other things, but what makes it bad was i was young and didnt know anything so i just wraped all my bleeding body parts in gaws went to bed and woke up noticing that i made a big mistake. had to take it all off, peeling all the scabs off because of it and bleeding all over again. oh yea and now i can take my thumbs and make 90 degree angles by bending them backwards. kinda cool actually. lol

I was at a party that got broken up by the cops when I was in high school. We were... on the wrong side of town. So I'm bookin it down an alley and ran up on 3 dudes doing a deal. Apparently they didn't appreciate this "pinche guero" running up on them like that. Long story short I have a 4 inch long scar on my side and I still, to this day, maintain that getting stabbed sucks.

Diggin the skating story, I got one too.
With my girlfriend and every friend I have watching, I tried a nose manual transfer from quarter to half pipe, got run off course on the lead up, when up at an angle, hit the guard rail, didnt switch and came back down goofy instead of making the transfer. Some punk sitting on the pipe thought it'd be funny to stop my board from coming back down with me and I landed flat on my left foot from 10 feet up. It cracked the bone but being the stupid hard@$$ that I am, I decided to man up and live with it. I was then driven home by my pal who used my spare coins to buy cigarettes and less than 2 dollars in gas to get me home in MY car. It took almost a year to get better, I lost half a toe nail and I'm noticeably pigeon toed. I also bounce when I walk like I'm in a perpetually great mood... It sends mixed messages. lol |

seeing as I'm fairly new I figure here's as good a place to contribute...
(long story, sry) I had my foot broken in at least 6 places while working as a lifeguard at a Six Flags water park in ATL one sumer. The particular slide I was working required the guard to stand in front of the 4 person float and hold it while everyone got on... well seeing as it was over 100 degrees that day and I was in the middle of a 12 hour shift I was a little tired of bending down to hold it, so I just stood in front of the float and held it with my legs (if that makes sense) Bad choice. dude gets his whole family on, and decided hes gonna just "jump" on. well when he jumped on he landed directly on my foot. Broke 3 toes and 2 bones in my foot in 1-2 places each. Everyone heard the cracking, I just smiled, pulled my foot out from under him, and sent them down the slide.... then proceeded to work standing on one foot for the next 6 hours. Being the genius I was at the time, I didn't think I could afford to take the time off from work so I didn't go to a doctor. Foot swelled up to about 2 times the normal size, of course black and purple, and I went to work the next week on it.... Eventually they made me go see the paramedics, who said it was definitely broken in multiple places, but because there was so much swelling and fluid build up they didn't know how bad it was... I went back to work and had to sit at the kiddie pool the rest of the summer. that sucked worse than the foot breaking in the first place. Rebroke it a few months later.. still have a huge knot on my foot where it didn't heal quite right Almost drown that sumer too when I was told to walk down a family sized enclosed slide because a raft was stuck about 30 feet in.... that was fun... try walking down a water slide with enough water moving though it to move a 200 pound raft.. you cant do it. long story short, got the raft almost moving, knee got caught between the slide wall and the raft and twisted directions i didn't know knees could twist and ended up somehow half under the raft.... knee occasionally bothers me still and i refuse to work as a lifeguard for six flags again. Barely over minimum wage is not worth the injuries sustained by idiots. Got a god awful concussion at a Green Day concert 2 years ago when (and we're not sure EXACTLY what happened) either a guy was dropped on me, or kicked me in the back of the head... only thing that saved me from getting hurt worse was that the guy in front of me was much taller and took most of the hit. Being stupidly stubborn at times, I refused to go to the hospital even tho I passed out multiple times, and spent the next 3 days feeling like I was stuck in the hangover from hell There are MANY more, but I think that'll do -------------------- ![]() 94 ST--- Project Fury |

I dont think that 1 post is enough to cover my injury list. I have had so many that it is remarkable that I am still alive and kicking.
I like to divide my injury list into several categories. 1) The early years: I was born a breach baby so doctors had one heck of a time pulling me out dislocating both hips so I spent my first year of life in a lower torso brace. By age 6 I already broke my collar bone, has had my lower lip stitched up twice, has had 3 concussions and about 20 some stitches to my head. At age 6-ish I climbed a huge tree trying to get my rope down and fell from 2nd floor height hitting a branch on my way down and landing on a steel pipe breaking my back. Needles to say I woke up in a hospital with a full upper torso cast and spent next year wearing it. After I healed my folks enrolled me in sambo which is like judo and I had a few dislocated joints to deal with. I also had a hairline fracture of my whatever its called bone on my leg below the knee... long story. 2) The teen years: I got shot at returning from a party. At first it was salt shot back at us. When drunken guard ran out of those he started shooting live shots injuring my foot. In the next few years I had a few cracked ribs when training for the free style mountain ski team. I have also had a few dislocations, major head concussion, fell from 2 more trees being stupid. Ended up having many splinters, bruises and skin cuts as I tumbled down. I also had additional 30 some stitches to my head from various injuries. I also almost drowned. Also broke my nose. Had someone attack me with a knife so have a (now a feint) scar. 3) The early adult years 2 car accidents that left me with a pinched nerve in the neck. I also was involved in a fight in college that shattered my knee cap, broke 2 fists. I also broke my other knee skiing so had 2 surgeries for that and have a plate and some screws there. Last injury was to my hand mountain biking. List goes on and on and on but I am very much alive and kicking. -------------------- Captain Pessimist

Note to self: -Never work at six flags Seriously, don't. It sucked-- I'd work at least a 12 hr shift at least 4 days straight with maybe a day off in between, got one 30 minute break and was required to stand (even when injured) for the entire shift in the sun, in ATL.. which gets decently hot. On top of that you had to buy your own uniform and got paid $6.50 an hour. GHEY. But I need money to pay tuition, so it's what I had to do -------------------- ![]() 94 ST--- Project Fury |
