k so first time ever doing so i wanna install some gauges into my gt (5SFE) volt,oil pres, water temp
iv never done this before and i cant find a how to on were to tap into for the water temp and oil pressure. the water temp has a big sensor on the end and the oil pressure needs to be tapped in some where. im basicaly just looking for some tips and maybe a couple of pics were you guys tapped into for yours, again its a 5sfe thanks in advance guys, Ian -------------------- ![]() i hate snow, missing my celica |

the easy way to to oil pressure is get a sandwich block. it will have the ports to install the gauge. as for water temp, you can drill and tap one of the hard pipes for coolant and thread in the sensor.
water temp is not usually needed since we have a gauge on the dash. if you are not crazy modifying your car, dont install it -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

You can also install a t at the stock oil pressure switch location for the oil pressure, pm me, I have one that has all the proper threads for the install.
They make hose adapters for the water temp gauge. You can get em on eBay. You basically just cut a small section of the stock rubber hose out and install the adapter in it's place. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

well iv got them all in and working 5 dollars of hardware ltr i had my T fitting and the adapter for the rad hose made, now here is a quick question for any one, im running a 5sfe.. whats the average or normal operating temp and oil pressure?
at idle i have 12-15 psi and when i give it throttle it goes up as high as 45-50 psi..any idea if thats normal? thanks in advance Ian -------------------- ![]() i hate snow, missing my celica |
