Hey guys/gals, wondering if any of you have had this problem. GenII 3s swap is burning oil intermittently, can't be the rings because it's sporadic not constant. Seems as if the oil seals in the turbo have gone wonky. Called Toyota about the seals and they were no helP of course. Anybody know the part numbers for these? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So originally the above description was my initial problem. My question now is... ...is it worth it to purchase a ct26 50 trim, or just a ct 20b? Now I am new to the forced induction game and know the general working of said beastie. That in mind my second round of questions as I will be flowing more air into and out of said (ct26 50 trim) turbo, my injector size should correlate correct?

Now what size injectors?

IS the power output going to be greater than or equivalent to a ct 20 b?

Will the injector sizing be the same? (as the injectors used for the 20b)

The option of porting is also available for a measley 75$, what porting do they speak of? (Gasket porting of the manifold flange?)

Any info that you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated, I tried searching the topic but the parameters for the search require larger wording than CT-26 50 trim so no such luck.

The company that makes said goodie is :

Sorry for the copy and paste link I suck at this iNterWEb thing LOL.

Thanks again.

Art

Thanks for the input Smaay. I really am a do it yourself kind of guy, I'll look into it and see if it is too involved I'll have the work done. I have been working on my cars since I was a teen. I get a kind of high off of completing my own work. I am also pretty knowledgeable. I have done 3/4 of the machining on my previous engines including CC'ing my heads to establish the maximum and minimal clearances for milling to increase compression rather than bore my cylinders, to the simple port and polish. Again thank you for the input, and please don't think my reply is sarcastic or anything. Just giving a little background.

This is one of those things that you can't just do at home because the turbo has to be balance checked after reassembly.
Toyota also doesn't officially sell a rebuild kit for this exact reason. Its just not something meant to be done at home or at a local garage.

Your best bet is to take this time to upgrade to a ct20b. You can get a very low millage one in excellent condition for around 500bucks these days.

Its also a good idea to inspect or replace the front main seal, oil pump seal, cam seals, rear main seal, etc... if they were never done before. One of those could be leaking badly causing you the issues you have.

Again thanks for the info guys. The general wealth of information and support on the site is and has been the only reason I continue to check on or visit this (aside from the friendly folks that is
), I have a tdo5 on the way and was just looking to solve the problem in the interim.

Art, about the rest of the seals. The car is about due for a timing belt and a general maintenance overhaul any way.(= shiny brandy new parts biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif ) So, I will be looking into all the other seals, belts, gaskets and other such maintenance parts such as the water pump.

My local Toyota dealer is a pain in the a$$. They want vin numbers for part look ups, I tell them it's a swapped car and they just act dumb like you can't just do a simple look up any more. So if anyone knows of or has a Yoter Dealer close to them that is more customer friendly please let me know.

As for the turbo seals I guess that I am just going to have to get it repaired or get the 20b in the mean time. Thanks for your help and intuition into this little dilemma.

ct20b is the best bolt on turbo for 3s-gte

even the ct26/t04e compressor upgrade does squat. higher boost less airflow higher temperature.
