I'm in for a summer meet, as long as it's on a weekend.

I'll likely only be out there in July when I apartment hunt with the fam and sign the lease... so don't give my schedule much credence when it comes to planning... I'll just show up with Chris and Stacy again if I'm out there that weekend and am able to make it.

Who knows if my Celica will be done or not? I'd love for it to be done, but I keep finding little parts I need to order. It was a lightweight flywheel today, then I still have to get the second half of my clutch, all of my hoses (every single one and there are a LOT of them in case you've ever looked,) fluids, a tach adaptor, etc. It looks like any time in June will be a little too early for my Celica to be back on the road. That's not to say I won't be able to make this meet as soon as we get a date set.

I just had a stroke of luck. My flywheel is already in the States and should be here in the next couple of days. Just a few more parts to order, probably order them tonight, then I might be able to get my Celica back on the road before the meet. Granted, I'll have some road testing to do to see if it can make the trip, but I'm hoping to be able to make it in the Celi. It'll be close. Just depends on if my luck is good enough that my tires aren't completely shot, all the bearings are good, and no motor issues come up. Anybody want to come down and help me swap to ensure that it's done? laugh.gif

Lol Zack, I haven't touched either motor since I got them. I took them out of the truck and set them in my garage floor. And even then, it took me 3 days to get the Greytop out of the truck. You couldn't possibly set me back any farther than I set myself back.

richee3--

The next 2 months AT LEAST...is completely jammed with crap at work!!
NRC is here for 2 weeks, night training, NGET test ( 250 questions ), & other stuff, otherwise, I would set a day & time to be extra hands. I appologize that work is so demanding for most of the summer!!
I would honestly love to get a hands-on learning experience!!!

My Bride & I both will unfortunately miss the 6GC family at the next meet!!

Daniel's burgers & bloodmoney's stories just can not be explained--
ya just gotta experience a Mid West Meet!!

We hope the weather is good for y'all, & we KNOW y'all will have a blast regardless!!

Chris always makes me laugh sooo hard my gut hurts, & Daniel's burgers are sooo darn good!!!

Stambo-- if there is a fall meet & all goes well, I would LOVE to see your enginebay!!
You see, turbos have always interested me, & other than a Buick GN back in the mid 80s, & a friends '69 Nova, that's my TOTAL experience with a turbo!!! frown.gif

Me, depending on BEAMS or not. If there is BEAMS power and I deem the car capable of making the roadtrip, I'll be there. Who knows what could go wrong though.

LUKE! You better make it this time.

The BEAMS might be in the car and running perfectly but I keep finding more and more things I need to buy to make that car good to make it there. For instance, I regarded my battery relocation as complete before because I could get power to all of my accessories. Now I'm thinking I actually need to run another wire for the negative terminal, even though I have it grounded. And once we get the motor in the car and get it running, who knows how the wheel bearings, brakes, etc. are? I'm not 100% confident that the car will be drivable and capable of making it that far. I know it was perfectly capable the day that the motor blew up, but the car has been sitting virtually unmoved for a year and a half. It has 4 mismatched tires on it, 3 of which were shot when the car was parked and now have a year and a half of dryrot. On top of the potential problems (that I'm praying I don't have,) that week will be expensive as hell for me. In addition to the unknown expenses that will surely come up during the swap, random trips to parts stores to get stuff, it'll cost me a couple hundred for the exhaust, $150 for the license plates, $350 for insurance, and who knows what else I'm forgetting.

I'd love to make it to this meet with a BEAMS powered Celi and I'm going to do everything I can to make it happen, but I just can't make any promises that I'll be there.

Guys, don't get me wrong. I'd love to make it in the Celica. It'll just be tough. I'm going to make it if I can. I can take off Friday night and limp the car there pretty slowly and make sure I have AAA's number saved in my phone, but just because the motor will be good doesn't mean the rest of the car will be.

Chris, I'm almost tempted to get Brigette's Celica and pull the 5S out of that this weekend and drop the Redtop in that. We're probably just going to stick to the original plan though.

It really isn't a matter of what car I'm in. It's a matter of if I can afford it or not, and if I can, can the Celica even make it? In addition to the other expenses this swap has brought up, I just found out today that the guy who sold me my flywheel shipped the wrong one. There goes $424. I don't really have the time or money for this. I'm going to do what I can and I'm going to try to make it, but I just can't make any promises.

Doing the math, I think I can afford to make this trip if I skip getting the exhaust fabbed up for the BEAMS and I drive up there with an open header laugh.gif

I'm definitely out for this one. Sorry guys. If we have a later meet his summer or a fall meet, I can be in attendance. The motor is going into the Celica next weekend but it still won't be drivable and after the motor is in, I really need to fix the bumper on my IS.

Does anyone have an address for the meet location, all I know is that it is by Starved Rock. My car looks like crap, but who cares. By the next meet it will look like a different car. The only thing that is half way done is the rims and the head liner. Until then
