thats clearly shipping damage....you can tell something was set on it and dragged across....unless the supplier sent it that way but if you have pics of it before shipment that should help your issue alittle....good luck and id just get another hood aluminum is a big pain to get dents out of from what i read....

Perhaps it was a the weight of a body landing on the hood then rolled onto the windscreen.
did the front windshield come damage by any chance? all jokes aside I think this is time for a new hood. there's plenty to be had for about $400 with shipping. |

You shouldn't have any troubles finding it locally, but I would definately go after the shipping company & then find a new hood. You'll never get the "wrinkles' out properly.

Pshhh fix it!
Spend a week on it and see how it goes, then source another hood if you cant get it the way you want. Honestly would only cost you maybe $50 in material and your time. You'll have to prep another hood regardless. -------------------- current project: looking :(

I dont even know where to start to try to fix it? Take the heat shield off first, then pop all the vents off. Flip the hood over and with a rubber mallet try and gently punch out the dents from the bottom. Get it as smooth as you can I guess... -------------------- |

I thought about that but Its basically the whole middle bulge of the hood that's smashed in

the problem with aluminum is that is expands easily, so those dents you see, they are strechted, and when you try to pop them back, they'll strech a little more, and you'll find yourself in a battle hitting both side without much improvement.
Aluminum parts once heavily dented are replaced instead of repair, but if repair is done / attempted, it better be at hands of someone who knows exactly what is doing. -------------------- ![]() |

aluminum requires a dedicated process to fix properly. with all the streching of the metal on that hood, you'll never get it back 100%. itll always look warped once installed on the car. (if you could even get it to sit properly after repair) -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Careful heating with a torch can be used to shrink the metal back into shape a little...but that might be beyond repair.

i'll try to remember never to order from them. they seemed kinda shady just based on their ebay ads. their auction listings don't look very business-like, but more of a private listing.

Premium - An additional cost above the normal cost. -Source- http://www.investorwords.com/3785/premium.html just curious so by any chance did you get your money or some money back? The seller said if I wanted a refund I would get only what I paid for the items back minus shipping so I would get -$600 back plus I would have to ship the old items back another -$400 so all I would get back in the end is $400 when I paid $1400 would you guys consider that fair ?? The seller had $800 in insurance from the shipping company so I'm guessing he filed a claim and probably pocketed the money and sent me another hood (which also had a big scuff across the hood) but I had a body shop fix that for me and I was able to salvage the bumper with some minor body filler so in the end I spent $2k in total for the gt4 hood and bumper w/fogs and no crash bar. Its true everspring_sports can get you st205 body parts but their from junked cars them self's and you would have to have minor to major body work done to them just to make them look "right" on the car. If its true www.partznet.com can get you the hood and bumper new but they just can't ship them I would gladly drive 2 days straight to their dealer and pick them up next time. -------------------- **If you can read this you are too close**

i would ask for a trade off...they send another new hood back with return ship for the merchandise....that's unfair and they know it. tell them you want a replacement and once it arrives...return the damage
hood back. in the future, make sure you buy through paypal...it is easy to get money back with paypal through these kinds of claims because clearly it is the shipper's fault/shipping company, they (as the shippers) deal with the problem with the shipping company, not you, and no never take refunds UNLESS it is the full amount of what you pay for + shipping. they should send a new hood to replace dented hood. I used paypal with the purchase but paypal is like a double edged sword if the seller pulled his funding source from paypal they can't and won't do anything about it and your left with nothing this is not the first time I've been scammed on ebay with paypal luckily the first time I got scammed I was only down $40 its just a lesson you have to experience and learn for yourself I regret buying from them but all I can do is share my experience and be more smart about it next time plus it doesn't help that this scammer is overseas so just beware if your buying from overseas triple check that the buyer or company is legit before you throw down money I'm just so glad it wasn't a 3sgte engine that I bought at least the 2nd hood they sent me was in "repairable" condition.
Learn from my mistakes and be extra careful when buying from overseas is the moral of this story. -------------------- **If you can read this you are too close**

Learn from my mistakes and be extra careful when buying from overseas is the moral of this story. that's weird, paypal - with anything over $300 they can pull the money out in place it in the seller's account, but it is put on a strict hold, until you as the "buyer get your item as described" that way no one scams the other by taking the money away; im sure of that because that's what happen to me. sure it goes to their account, but there's still a hold on it....make a claim with paypal disputing item was not as describe, explain damage and let paypal judge the case (in most case, it always work out for the buyer); tell them you made contact and the seller is not willing to come to a fair agreement. make the case before it's too late, i hope it is not too late in your case. (brief and detail descriptions usually works best; mention the time and long efforts you tried to make it work) no excuses, even if you are overseas. MONEY's Money no matter how you look at it. The first time I filed a dispute/claim with paypal I won it but I didn't get my money back because the seller pulled his account from paypal so he wouldn't be able to refund me and took off with the money this time I called paypal and talked to a rep and asked him can this happen again like what happened last time ?? He said it himself that yes even if I won the dispute/claim if the seller removed his funding source they wouldn't be able to trace him and get my money back and in the end I would get nothing back so I just resolved it myself and it ended up in him sending me another hood even though the seller could have easily walked away with money.
This is how paypal works buyer sends money to paypal, paypal collects a percentage from the sale, paypal sends seller the rest of the money so in the end you really just send money to paypal and not the seller. The only way around this is that you use a credit card and have your bank or credit card company refund you your money back but its paypals account they refund from not the sellers so in the end paypal would and probably close your account, this has happened before to other paypal users If you google it this is the only way you could really get your money back. When I first signed up for paypal and read the terms and conditions they stated that they are not an escrow service in the terms even though they kinda are its just to protect themselves from stuff like this, so if your investing a lot of money into something make sure your paying with your credit card sure paypal would drop you but at least you would get your money back. -------------------- **If you can read this you are too close**
