Ok, plz don't flame me but I am thinking about buying a Honda Prelude. The price of an used 6th gen Celica and an Prelude is almost the same in my country. I like the Celica a lot but I also like the Prelude especially because its an 2.3 Prelude here in Europe and the only Celica here is 1.8 GTI or 2.0 mad.gif .

I am confused..... what to do? Buy an Celica or an Prelude? confused.gif

You guys will say Celica ofcourse smile.gif

What benefits do Honda's have an Toyota don't etc etc?

one benefit that the celica has is that there aren't many around. unlike a prelude....
but go for what YOU like better smile.gif

Do you know what the engine code is? If it's a 2.0 liter engine, than it must be a 3S engine, the slowest of which(3S-FE) puts down 138 horsepower and 138 lb. ft. of torque.

even though I like the Celica better I owe my life to a Honda Prelude twice over...was in 2 REALLY bad wrecks with the same prelude and I should be dead but that thing still runs good as hell... cant say the same for the corvette I distroyed with or the gaurd rail I hit head on ... one bonus is the prelude is WAY faster

I used to have the 3sfe (ST202) import, the car looks like
a bad muther but is weak on the low end. If you want
looks that don't fade with age and power is not a priority
then go for a Celica, but wait for the more powerful european model to come your way.
The Honda prelude was a novelty for a while over here in the UK but I think the looks wear thin after a while and they are everywhere now.
A 2.3 will drink your fuel like crazy, not good with fuel
prices high in europe.

My brother got a 99 Prelude
It's much stronger than my 96 celica, but it has DOHC VTEC, modded intake, exhaust, and VTEC controller installed to adapt to the fuel quality here. Runs on lower 15 second or upper (very upper) 14 on the quarter.
The suspension has been changed to fully adjustable, lowered a bit, helps so much in stability. It does feel much stronger and more stable when I pushed it in the twisties. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

But, my (100% standard) celica runs smoother, more practical (not lowered), relaxed (not noisy), and it's so easy to use for just nipping next door to buy a bottle of milk. AND it is much more sexy with the curves that kinda look like a blend of european car. I'd say: More pedigree biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

So, there you go. It's your choice (in other words: you're ghey tongue.gif )
naah, just kidding

P.S.

Celica has MUCH more bottom end torque, while the 'Lude feels much more powerful in the upper revs.

If you have many traffic lights in your city, get the celica. They run easier smile.gif
The 'Lude doesn't give sh*t until you're above 3,500 rpm while the celica pulls cleanly from 1,200 rpm
