I had my tires rotated yesterday at a place called Wheel Works. They did access my trunk to check my spare tire and right now, i tried popping the trunk from the lever and I don't feel any tension so I went to the back to open the trunk using the key.

I have not checked the cable yet to see if it actually snapped or it just came lose on on the ends. If the cable is needs replacement, how do I do it?? kindasad.gif

I'd like to complain to the shop and make them fix it mad.gif

IIRC theres a cable between the release lever in the front, and the key lock cylinder mechanism, which then has a second cable to the actual catch that holds the hatch closed. so if your key works, but not the lever, the long cable may have came off or busted.

the clip at the end of my cable snapped and did something similar.. had to replace the whole cable.. i assume the guy before me yanked it way too hard.

So I checked it and the cable snapped from the lever. How do I take out the whole assembly?

the lever assy? if i remember right theres a screw that holds the pretty plastic over it, then a 10mm bolt under there that holds the assy in place. it takes some maneuvering to get it out.

No the whole cable. When I checked it today, it snapped where the lever is. I tried taking that screw out and then there is another bolt that holds the lever assembly. How bout for the fuel door, do I need to unhook the cable to get the whole assembly out?
