Personally i love the kit. Pretty easy to install and not as daunting as you would think....Paid around 270ish i belive for mine (off ebay ^_^). Think the hardest part for the install was the wires..More wiring than you would think for a water injection kit.
Btw details were...boost dependent. You set when the water starts coming out, and when it stops. Of course there is the requirement that you have to install the nozzle somewhere. Favorite and most recommended places is somewhere before the butterfly valve on the throttle body, and the intercooler. I installed mine in the little rubber thingy that connects the throttlebody to the intercooler. Not a permanent solution but itll work for now... Mounted the pump and bottle in the frunk space. Drilled some holes through the cars body to mount the pump in the trunk, and right above it on the back panel for the backseat i mounted the bottle.... Also you will need to run some vacuum hose from somwhere on the intake manifold to the control unit to setup the boost dependent thing. The bottle comes with a low level sensor, and a one way inline filter as well. So i take it you are considering buying one of these kits, lol... -------------------- (\__/)

I pieced my kit together from different manufacturers.
Devilsown 1/4 " tubing Devilsown pump Devilsown progressive controller Alcohol injection system fittings and check valve alcohol injection nozzle custom made holder to fit in OEM stock water injection location ( WRC manifold ) using stock windshield washer bottle total cost is under 200, everything is new except for the pump and controller. if you decide to put your own kit together there are a few things to know. 1- most pumps are made by the same company and label for different companies, so dont pay extra for one brand over the other. 2-the most critical part of ANY water injection system is the lines and fittings, going cheap on these can be tragic. you dont want water / methanol mix leaking in a hot engine bay. the AEM kit is great because of the fail safe features it has. -------------------- ![]() |

can we expand on the fail safe features? I was talking to a guy who had been tuning cars for 20+ years and he kinda frowned on Water/meth injection, said it was great until it INEVITABLY failed. I brushed that comment off, but the one that concerned me was that it was only necessary when in high boost levels.
which leads me to ask, what is a sufficient time to have the H2O/meth activated? ex: stock boost (for me) is 15 lbs, should i have it activate when i choose to go over stock boost limits? or at a lower boost level? -------------------- |

I dont agree on the high boost levels, You can use Water/Meth If you want to squeeze more power on a LEANER afr ratio, the leaner it is the hotter it will get...

No not running the failsafe...I have a low boost and high boost setting on my boost controller if my AEM module flashes it has no water then I just turn the boost down
