My buddy scored this weekend.... and when I say scored, I mean many little Asian children cried.

He pulled up to my place of work, gave my boss and I bagels and told me that I'll get a kick of what he just picked up. I walked outside to put in a battery and just about dropped it on my foot. You better believe I installed that battery faster than I have ever done before.

Needless to say, I had an importgasm. I touched it.

I seriously can't wait to ride in this thing... or drive it if he will give me the pleasure rofl.

Congrats on your buddy's pickup - he'll love it greatly. My dad had one when we lived in Japan...the sound of that turbo spooling and the raw grunt when it pulled is one of my fondest memories.

It is an R32. I don't know the year though. I was too dumbfounded to ask. But it is a legit R32, not a GTST but a real GTR.

He owns a bunch of very rare track cars that push 300+ HP. He's got a shop and they're all under lock and key.

Good luck to him if he's intending to register and drive it on the road.

Apparently it's not that hard here. You just have to "fix it." NY State is not too harsh on those things... the exhaust may get him in trouble though. He does have an RB26DETT in his S14 though. That thing shakes the ground and is some how street legal. *shrug*

It's definatly a GTR, GTST and GTS are narrow body. Not rare in Australia, hehe. Clean example though.
Interesting strapping choice over the bumper/headlights.

It's not NY state he needs to worry about, its the federal government.

It doesn't matter if NY says he can drive it, that vehicle does not meet federal crash safety standards so it is illegal to drive on any public roadway...period. If he can get away with it, cool, but it's still illegal. They can come, take it, crush it, and tell him 'tough ****' and there's nothing he can do about it. Even just importing it here is dubious since you have to pay certain duties and fee's on an imported car. If any of those were skipped or not done or it wasn't recorded properly..well see above.

yup def GTR very tidy/clean, the lack of lip between the headlights gives it away, number of these over here

my guess would have been a 34 GTR with the factory's plastic seat covers still on it

Oh and these guys here know their RB's http://www.ripsltd.com/index2.html A few overseas people even ship their car over here to get work done by these guys.

I love the massive intercooler up front. This thing even has a roll cage in it.

I really hope he gets to keep it, but now with that mess going on, it's just a matter of time. Pretty car. I like the R33 better of all, though. tongue.gif

I mean, I consider the R34 more aggressive and prettier. But the almost tame look of the R33 sparks my interest. It looks like it's got something going on. Kind of mysterious.

mine too!! I love the rear end on the r33 over the rear end on the r34, but the r34 has a nicer front end.
