^^this^^ unless you have a crazy good build, there is no way the 5s will benefit from a diff intake manifold (over enough rpm range to make it worth it) -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated. there are no bolt on options for a 5sfe intake manifold. however, in a FI application, i think a properly designed intake manifold would be a huge improvment over the stock manifold. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;) 13.6@108MPH, 5SFTE Powered |

Can i ask why the 5s would not benefit from any new intake manifolds? And would it see any decent power gains from polishing the inside of the stock manifold?

yeah you could port and polish the stock intake. Toyota engineers do make good nonrestrictive manifolds. the throttle body could be a little bigger, but again in the N/A application its really at its best.

read up over on mr2oc.com & celicatech has a decent sticky regarding 5sfe n/a builds. take a look at the dyno sheets on the highest hp 5sfe's on record then figure out if you want to attempt to go that route. -------------------- '87 AW11 MR2 "Super R2" 4AG-ZE swapped Stage 1 Complete '90 ST185 Celica All-Trac 3S-GTE "Vadar" Turbo AWD Sith Stage 2 in the works '99 SXV20 Camry 5S-FE "Darth Maul" TRD Grocery Getter powah coming soon |

it does if its not respected, if you use something mild like a 50 shot you will be just fine. you can use it as long as you have juice in the bottle. with a wet kit you mix gas with nitrous, its much safer, the engine will run richer and not detonate. if you run a larger jet the mixture might still be safe, but its the cylinder pressures that kills the engine. these engine have a lower compression than the 2ZZ in the 7th gen celicas and we run 50-75 shots all day long racing. so you will be just fine
