ok i have an AUTOMATIC 94 gt
i have a problem when i drive it, sometimes when i come to a stop then attempt to go the car goes to neatral then kicks into 1st its been doing this for a long time, since i have gotten the transmission replaced back in may. it stopped for a while but its doing it again. Ill be pushing the pedal to accerletate and the engine revs but doesnt go at first then i feel it shift and go forward. also, i dunno if this is normal but when im drving down the highway and i release the pedal(gas) the rpms drop then they go up again. i have heard it since i have gotten my muffler. it gives a low sound as the rpms drop then it has a little rev again i dunno why this is happening but i do know that i rather see wut u guysd say first then take it to a shop and get lied too. now that i think about it perhaps the cold air is somewhat affecting it, i remember it used to do that "neutral to first" thing when i first replaced the transmission then it stopped for a long time and is now back. i dunno much about engines but i do know that automatics has a clutch and perhaps i need a new one, how much does that cost? |

Check the transmission fluid. The situation you described basically happened to the Camry I used to have and I didn't realize it. The transmission ended up going to ****.
