Hey guys,
One of the first things I done was remove my 'SX' sticker from the rear.

I have recently done the Celica brake light, and wondering peoples thoughts on removing the 'Toyota and Celica' badge on my car.

What's peoples thoughts on doing so to my car? Or in general?

Im in 2 minds about it really, I want to do it myself as I like the clean look but I really do like having the "celica" on there.. Thinking ill get rid of the toyota symbol and see how it looks with just celica on.

Just my opinion. Ill vote 'yes' to removing it.

i like the no badge look its what i have and the celica brake light. only badge i would put on the back is the cursive celica but if i get that ill probably put it in the front grill instead. its all personal choice but i like that people look at my car if they like it they usually have to ask me what it is makes the car a lil more memorable i think.

well i got a paint job when i took mine off so it didn't matter but there should be solutions that dissolve the glue substance so it can come off like goo gone or something. not sure but there has to be something.

No.
Celicas aren't common.

I want everyone to see my car to know it's a Celica.
I will never de-badge.

Dustin, I agree with you, but I use the opposite for same effect. I want people to wonder. Most can look at the brake light though...

I agree with Dustin as well, but I'm throwing the Dragon emblem on the rear of mine. I like the look of it and only some people might know what it is, others might not, and then they want to find out what it is. I'm not a fan of the brake light thing though, it's just tacky imo

i think this over all boils down to personal preference. i can see the point of both sides, if you really want to do it do it, its always good to get opinions from the community especially when they have good valid points but your the one that is going to be driving around in it. like i said the only emblem i like is the cursive celica emblem and of course the GT-Four emblem but i would only put the GT-four emblem if i had a genuine GT-four which unfortunately isn't the case. but its all about your style. my .02

Meh, it doesn't light up much from what I've heard, I'm not a fan of tacky either so I try to be conservative. I mostly like the look when it's not lit up, actually.

The hatch looks great with only the T emblem remaining. As clean as your car is, I would say that it would look great debadged.

Well over here Celicas 5th 6th and 7th gen are as common as honda's. Seriously there are so many, everyone knows a celica over here.

Edit: im not a fan of the celica brakelight thing either, it reminds me of a prelude.

To the op, I like the clean look but I think something needs to be.back there.. like just the Toyota "T"

*Insert full whinny post about trying earlier today*

So, i did try this morning and it left alot of double sided tape and sticky stuff on the car.
I tried to remove as much as i could, and could still feel/see an outline.

Turns out i just didn't have the guts to continue and took the safe option of putting it back on.

Now, after trying again, i have success. Completely gone, almost. Another polish and it'll be sweet smile.gif

He doesn't mean shadows like oxidized paint - he means the shadow emblems... Like these on my old 96 Limited.

And you would use the clay first, then rubbing compound... just sayin...

Use a hair dryer to heat up the emblem (the adhesive) and then floss.

30 minutes tops.

Heat it up, floss. Heat it up some more, floss some more. Repeat until the emblem falls off. Then heat up the remaining adhesive and try to rub off what you can. What little is left over - use a clay kit to run over the area until the surface is clean, then polish to remove oxidation. Lastly, wax it and seal it. Stand back and look at the wonder you have created.

Looks great! I did it on my Celica (my 95, not the 96), on my WRX, and it was already done on my MR2. Love the look.
