Dont sound so dissapointed, this weather is great!

I'm leaning towards april though. Odds of getting good weather is higher whereas march is usually a crapshoot

I'm leaning towards April as well. March can be pretty nice here but I'm a good way south.

Starved Rock is about an hour Southwest of Chicago. You guys should come. The meets are totally worth it. We're starting to get more swapped Celicas now smile.gif

Don't worry Cheela, I had a 6gen St A/T at once time, and man I rice it out, J/K, I actully think ST A/t have better low end torque for stand drivng. I had lots of fun with mine. My 1st car too. It took 9 year for my car to be finally swap. Car caught fire, Wife and 5 kids later. Finaly 3sgte running. Well I had a 1st gen 3sgte swap done 1st, never fully got it finish to drive, around the block only.

LOL! yeah, I love it still. It's not fast but man I save gas driving around town. biggrin.gif I could care less either way. People are always doing double takes on my car and they don't know how slow it is. biggrin.gif Right now i wouldn't even have the time, space OR MONEY for a swap so it's a ways away. Its gonna happen, just not yet. probably be like u except for the whole catching fire thing tongue.gif

I'm going down for a week to ATL in April for the Tail of the Dragon w/ Ctech.

This limits us to two options:

April 7,8
or
April 28,29

Sometime in March would work too, but since people are leaning towards April, these are our options.

Discuss!

I could do that in my sleep! Seriously though. I didn't know you had moved. I knew you went to work for TWM but I thought you still lived in Ohio. Hopefully you can make it.

Sounds good then. April 28th it is. I'll probably have to take a vacation day from work but it'll work out. If I have time, I'll PM Zach and Skyler and pester them until they agree to come.

Giant cookie things are the best!

I'm going to do my best to make sure Brigette and I have a GT4 front end and fresh paint before the meet. That's my big goal. Also, since the BEAMS is up to 100%, I'm up for the gas mileage challenge again.

Do it. Several of us, myself included, drive that far for the meet every time and it's always worth it. I think navseal is from Nebraska as well and he's made it a couple of times, maybe you guys could caravan in together.

Hey guys... I added myself on here when I had my 1994 ST. It was AMAZING! I bought it from an old man who had it from new. The car was SPOTLESS, and it had 64,000 miles. I never drove it hard, it being an automatic ST and all.

Then... I sold that, went through a couple more Toyota's and then bought a 2002 GT-S with a 6 speed transmission. Did a bunch of stuff cosmetically to it, and then I totaled it. frown.gif

Then I bought another 7th gen. A 2000 GT-S with a 6 speed transmission. This is the car I will probably take to your guys' meet.

The only thing that will be different is that I will have polished 18" TRD wheels on it and a GReddy front lip...

w00t! New people!

Luckily for you guys, I just found out that trading in Abby for a newer car won't help me much, so we're going to keep her and make her an experimental swap whore. Unfortunately, nothing will be done by the time our meet comes along, so you'll just see the same old ****e.

Maybe, if I'm lucky, we might bring down Stacy's 88 ST165.... If she's done.

We had a great turnout last Fall. I'm hoping this one will be even better. There were a few guys that posted in the Fall V3 thread that I will be contacting soon as well. The more advance notice people have, the better.

I'm hoping this meet will show several changes in everyone's cars. Ours probably won't be any different, but I'm gonna be pushing hard for the GT4 front end and new paint. It'd be awesome if Luke's swap could be finished. Skyler, I'd love to know what you have planned for the Celica. I still haven't gotten to see Tom's car since he got the GT4 front end and Chris, if you drive the ST165 down... I totally call dibs on a ride.

Any suggestions for this meet? Ways to improve upon our previous meets? Other than the burgers showing up on time, I mean. That one's a given. I still say we ban that guy.... owned.gif

Bitter usually shows up in his GT-S but he might bring his Mazda this time. We usually meet up, eat, exchange stories, do a photoshoot, then we go for a cruise and go hiking. It's always a good time.

Bitter usually shows up in his GT-S and toots his horn, then goes and proceeds to scare the daylights out of someone by putting it on 3 wheels around a corner, but he might bring his Mazda this time. I don't know what car I'll take. Depends how I'm feeling that day and what the weather is like. GTS needs coils, bushings, and tires. Spring/summer purchases/installations. Just need to get off my lazy ass and tear things apart for the bushings...and buy the coils.

Bitter... Where have you been on NC.org? We have a Wisconsin Dells meet that's going to go on in May.

As of right now it's safe to say Sammi and I will be there. Last year it fell on our anniversary vacation,. Only thing that may stop us is if we buy our new place before then. so I'm gonna say we're 90% sure to be there.

Eh, just haven't been on. Car is stored for winter and there's not much going on with that site that interests me.

If your car was a 5 speed, I'd ditch my new 7th gen and buy yours for sure. Then again, if it was a 5 speed you probably wouldn't be selling it, right? I totally have a spare S54 in my garage... Just saying.

There will still be a parts swap at this meet- I'm bringing a pair of doors and some shop lights for Chris.

When I get time later today, I'll start making an official attendance list.

Yeah, I got a 7th gen but it's a beater. I have the trans and shift cables but those are for sale. I don't have anything else that I would need for the manual conversion. Otherwise I'd be seriously interested.

It occurs to me, I think, and I could be wrong, but I think the S54 bolts to the 2ZZ. I know the C series do, as does the E153, so since the E153 bolts to the 2ZZ and the S54 bolts to the 3S/5S and the E153 bolts to the 3S, the S54 bolts to the 2ZZ. No clue about axles and shift cables.

It's kind of an up in the air thing... Hopefully it will work out, but it may not. I'm not counting on having her back until summer, but I'm hoping I'll have her mid march if everything goes right.

Regardless if I have Fury or not, I'll be there. I'll just rent a car to get there if need be smile.gif

Do it. Several of us, myself included, drive that far for the meet every time and it's always worth it. I think navseal is from Nebraska as well and he's made it a couple of times, maybe you guys could caravan in together.

WOOT! Another from NE!

Hopefully Amanda can get Fury back on the road. Are we hiking at Matthiessen State Park again or somewhere different? It'd be cool if we could get a video compilation of this meet thrown together, but I'm not volunteering... I'm not much good with a camera and useless when it comes to editing.

How do we want to do this? A photo collage with music? I think it would be cool to have actual video scenes of all the cars cruising by, possibly have someone stand near the road and film everyone driving by. There's one spot on one of the curves on 71 that I'm specifically thinking of where the videographer could stand on a hill above the road, film the cars come up the road, go around a curve, and keep filming as they drive away. I don't mind filming since Brigette will be driving the BEAMS. I trust her to come back and pick me up.. maybe. It would be cool to have a mix of video and pictures of the meet and cruise. Then again, like I said earlier and I stress now, I have absolutely 0 skills with this kind of thing.

The spot I'm thinking of- notice the meeting spot in the top right corner of the map. The spot I'm thinking of is the first curve, where you can somewhat see the straight road before the curve and film the cars going into the next curve.

a photo thing? pfft. everyone does that wink.gif i have a contour HD, a drift stealth, and a pocket video cam. all of which shoots in HD, along with my awesome digital camera (for pics) the first two i mentioned are helmet cam types, which i can strap to what ever car im driving by then. and use the pocket video camera for the rest. (its also water proof wink.gif ) i figure i can fit the drives, story time (atleast the audio), and a few others, im working on planning it out, so what ever input such as your suggestion about the drive bys would help thumbsup.gif

I have camera tripod thread on the lower lip of the Celica, if any of those little camera's have threads.

Put me down for maybe. I think I'm buying myself coilovers for my birthday, but I don't know that they'd be on the Celica by meet time. I have other things to go on with them and would still be on those crappy all seasons.

Devin- we'll definitely bring aluminum foil. Who knows what has been cooked on that grill...

Jordan- Crappy tires and stock suspension, you're still going! My point and shoot has threads and is a decently cheap camera, so no big loss should anything happen.

Oh no doubt about planning on going, just don't know 100% yet and don't know if I'd take the Celica. It may not have any suspension arms installed or be in some state of assemble/disassemble. I know that just changing the suspension up will make a big difference even with the crap tires. If its done and I'm OK with it, I'll take it. If it's not done then I'll take the Mazda. It's a good car too...Bi-Xenon headlights and LED's brighter than some car's headlights.

Oh yeah? Well my Nikon point and shoot has 4x optical zoom, a wrist strap, and it's red. It'll do videos too tongue.gif

I feel like I'm the only person without a GoPro. Our Celica isn't the greatest for pictures anyway. I'm already pretty excited for this meet.

I really hope I can be there.

I submit, Haydens Crossing for dinner.

https://www.facebook.com/haydenscrossing?sk=info

Oh and that was after Erin and I (mostly I) tore into the nacho's. We ate there yesterday and I couldn't even see the chips under all the cheese. Crazy Nacho's. Rest of the food is all good too, good service, and nice staff as well. Parking however sucks.

Do we think that we can push this out another week?

My sister decided to have her bridal shower on MY day and Stacy's attendance is mandatory.

Otherwise, I'm on the no list.

Let's go with May 5th. We'll celebrate Cinco de Mayo our own way.

I decided I needed to jump on here and join the discussion. I think Chris got the days mixed up. I believe his sister's bridal shower is on Sunday, April 29th. From what I skimmed through this thread (since I'm at work), it looks like the meet was planned for Saturday, April 28th. If that's the case, then the meet doesn't need to be moved around. I don't wanna change the date around and mess up anyone's schedule if we don't have to. We just need to confirm the bridal shower date, but I think April 28th will be fine.

Oh wow... Stacy is on 6gc! I'm shocked. In that case, still April 28th?

Yeah, yeah.. whatever Daniel. I don't even have time for ctech most of the time, much less hopping on other forums. tongue.gif

I think April 28th should be okay. I'm not sure if Chris has had time to confirm, if not, I'll call and figure it out later today. But I am 99% sure that we should be able to stick with the original plan.
