West Coast MotY 2012 Options

Well it's that time again! Its time to start planning the 2nd MotY(Middle of the Year) meet for the west coast. At the last MotY meet we had over twenty beautiful moded 6gcs show up with people coming from as far as Portland. This year we hope to double that number and get members from all across the country to make the journey to share and show off their rides(that means you Joe!). Here is a Link to pictures from MotY 2010 as well as The thread for MotY 2010. The meet setup will be the same as the previous years meets. Check the thread for updates on that later on.

Here is just one picture of the group that decided to do the cruise through the canyons after the meet, just so you can get an idea of the cars that go:



Where: Castaic Lake, California.About 40 minutes north of LA in the grapevine. This place did well for us last time, there is a lake for swimming, a lot of room for activities and BBQing, and its close to the canyons for cruising. However, there is an $8 per car fee to enter the park, but I will be getting in touch with them to see if we can organize a group rate to possibly get the price down.

When: June 23rd, 2012

Why: Because we need one grand summer meet a year to show off our cars!

Who: Anyone is welcome that owns a 6gc. You can bring a friend with another moded car but lets try to keep it a mainly celica meet.

1/20-Thread started just to give people a heads up on the meet so they can begin to set the time aside. Please don't post saying you will be attending because no one knows that they will be able to make it yet. I will be sending out a mass PM to the 80+ people on my 6gc spreadsheet in late february to gauge some interest. Then Put another one out in late may to early June to start getting confirmations.

Update 4-13-12

-I have put an email out to a high up in the LA county recreation areas to try and reserve not only the area we had last time, but the entire parking lot. (That way we wont have god damn mariachi music this time)

-Are you guys cool with pitching in maybe $10 so the parking lot and everything is reserved for only us? I asked him about the entrance fee situation as well.

That would be fine for the few people that actually check this thread, but the majority of people never browse the forums, however when I pm them usually it'll send an email to them saying they have a PM on 6gc.net. But feel free to leave your emails in this thread and ill put them on the spreadsheet. Also I will be sending pms about phone numbers soon, I have most everyones but not a few new people.

yeah u have a point but i like "rare" thats why i did the BEAMS swap in the celica instead of the 3s. plus high rev is also a lot of fun especially with a six speed....

hmm for some reason I thought it was on next Saturday. I put my car in last year. Didn't get much attention at all anyhow. Its not till it gets featured in magazines till people will start to give it attention.

I'm sorry to say that I will be in Europe for all of June and will NOT be able to attend the meet this year. HOWEVER I will still help organize everything and with the help of Nam(CAMARICER) and Derrick(MaskedMan) everything should flow smoothly. Sorry to have to spring this on everyone but I had completely forgotten, but I will be marking MOTY 2013 on the calender now, except by then I hope to be in the celica's big brother .



The next mass PM will be sent out sometime within the next 2 weeks(In the middle of school finals).

Hi guys. Thanks for those who expressed interest in this meet. Unfortunately the date was just wrong and the event organizer was unable to pill it together in time. However, that isn't to say we can't postpone it to a later date. I, myself, was caught up in a horrible 3 month period of work where I had exactly two weekends off. Not to mention having sold both my Celicas has put me out of the loop.

But my schedule should be clearing up this month and I could try to make an attempt to redo this for August? For those of you who remember, we had a huge turn out a couple of years ago. BBQ, a model, some games, prizes, etc...it was fun. So make a post expressing your desire for a reboot in August. If there is interest, I'll put in the time to book a location and get this meet going.

I apologize for not posting earlier. Yea Justin I fully disconnected my phone for my Europe trip so I'm sorry but i could not reply. I had completely forgotten about my trip and that really screwed things up, not the mention I have 3 huge overhaul projects going on, moving into an apartment, and looking for work but that is no excuse. I am currently posting this from the Spanish coast so don't say i didn't try! Again im sorry to everyone and hopefully some time next year my life will be stable enough so that I can actually devote the time necessary to get the meet going.
