A lot.
There is no dollar value to achieve a specific HP goal. Plan on spending quite a bit of money. Figure you'll need to do something like this: http://www.6gc.net/celicas/1994-gt-4-hatchback-2022 480whp @ 1.6 Bar (~23psi) -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Didn't iburnslabs make 500? Don't think his was a stroker build, probably cost much less than Tufy's JUN stroker..haha.
But yeah, a few have done it, and yeah it will cost a lot of money. -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

Yes and no.
Yes, you should go into the build with some rough idea of what you're going to spend. The better question should be, "How much are you WILLING to spend" for 500hp. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Nevermind.
As I see I need min. 20K$ on an engine and 30K+ on a whole car to achieve that goal. and I prefer to buy some JDM supra with that price. -------------------- |

That seems a bit steep. I would estimate 15k with YOU doing a majority of the wrench work.

Shoot, you could prolly build and swap an LS1 in for that amount. Say goodbye to your awd though.
Maybe there are more viable options than the 3sgte, what numbers would a supercharged 1MZ put out? |

With 10k you can do alot. My own engine build, filled with the engine and all the unnecessary stuffs will put me at 12-15k max.....And i mean im including bells and whistles i dont really even need...
AKA...cryo treated engine, 3 angle valve job, EFR turbo from EMSpowered etc, 1200cc injectors, redtop engine, custom pistons... 10k is alot of money to build a reliable 500awhp engine. That is of course if you do it right. I dont want to beat a dead horse, but if you are serious about this, enough research, a plan and some foresight would go along ways than just thinking of monetary cost. BSAMPS and 95CELICA said it perfectly. Dude its all up to you and what you want... -------------------- (\__/)

Doing all the work myself I have about 10k into my drivetrain of the Rx7 with a LSx. It makes 500 rwhp at 4300 rpms. Honestly that much power in this car is pretty much stupid though. You're talking complete custom build to do it reliably as there would be no aftermarket support for what you want to do. And maybe its just my personal opinion dumping that much money into a celica is not smart. You'll never recover close to what you put into it. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

I am/was really thinking about to buy second ST205 as a second car and use it for drag and track use only.
The reasons why I want it and why I don't want cars like skylines or some kind of Hondas for project are: 1.I really think that ST205 is one of the best looking Japanese car. One of my fav car. 2.There're only one GT4(ST205) in my country and I have it ![]() 3.There're battles of evos vs subarus vs M3s here. Who the hell knows what rlly GT4 is ![]() I don't know, maybe I'll buy another GT4 and do some project or buy JDM supra (the blue one ![]() Thanks This post has been edited by Red123: May 2, 2012 - 12:48 PM -------------------- |
