DOT stamping, pic request Options

Can someone with 96+ jdm tails check to see if there are DOT stamping on the lenses?
Also let me know if the usdm front seat belts have the DOT certification logo on the tags.

Tails are not DOT approved.
Not sure what year mine are from though, They are off your old car.

Keep in mind Canada accepts Euro standards as well as DOT, it's why we were able to get HID headlights before the U.S.

In Winnipeg, thats not going to hold up with the inspections going on here.
DOT stamping on tail lights, or we get a ticket/demerits on our license.


@ Azian, Does your new car have the JDM tails without dot stamping?

it has the 94-95 tails on it but i'm not sure if it has the DOT stamping. i know the jdm headlamps (non-projectors) don't have the DOT stamping on the lense back when i had them so i'm assuming the 94-95 jdm tails won't either. maybe someone with a jdm celica with 94-95 tails can verify this for me, otherwise i will find out for myself in a couple of weeks.

in some provinces, imported celicas either need to get usdm tails (with the red reflector) or install aftermarket reflectors in the rear bumper like what i've seen for some of the imported gt-fours.
in MB i don't think they check for that and that all they want is the DOT stamping. many RHD cars in manitoba, not just gt-fours, have received letters in the mail about having their rhd cars brought in for inspection if it meets compliance regulations and many of them have failed. even if documents state that euro standards are legal, manitoba traffic courts have filed against them.

Not sure what your plans are, but if you just need a set of DOT tails for inspection / safety, or whatever one time use, you could borrow mine.
That's if you weren't planning on running DOT tails all the time, and just needed them to get the car on the road.

Since the model that the tails came off of were not US, they are not DOT. Only US models are DOT per regulation. JDM tails are only SAE. Ive had a set destroyed by customs, i had to figure out a way to bring it in, which i did.
