So I'm new to the 6g and might ask dumb questions here and there. But we have to learn some how, right? I am typically a Honda tuner but have loved the 6g for as long as I can remember. I finally had the chance to buy one and I couldn't be in more extasy. So far, it has a body kit, 17" wheels, exhaust and a Turbo wink.gif

Not sure which motor it is, I'm new to Toyota... Nor am I sure on the whp. It needs tuned but I have no idea what program to use. The Turbo is a holset hx35. It has precision 550 injectors. Stage 3 centerforce clutch. Hks blow off valve. 3" exhaust from the down pipe to a magnaflow muffler. And odds and ends here and there

5sfe turbo, 5sfte, same thing lol.
If you wanna get real technical it would be a turbo'd 5sfe, seeing as there's no such thing as a 5sfte from Toyota.

Well this is a new type of introduction.

Most come strolling in with a ST that is mint, or a GT that is well over paid for with some issues =P

Now a turbo'ed GT (5sfe) is certainly a new "welcome to the site, look what I got" - Props.

Tune'er, ditch the skirts, paint and it'll be banging.

Welcome to 6gc!

oh yea, i forgot about the guys coming in with GT4's...they don't count =P

Doesn't look too home brew - it either is, or is based on the Burien Toyota turbo kit, which is easy to spot due to the lack of an intercooler.

I would look into installing an intercooler on that setup before you start messing with too much.

Look at other peoples set-up on the pipe routing. You could "if you wanted to risk it" do alcohol injection.

Deal. So does anyone know if TC suspension is interchangeable? I read somewhere that it was, but would like some real results before I went ahead and ordered coilovers.

No it is not.

Celicas have MacPherson front and rear. The tC is MacPherson front and double wishbone rear.

Ok, glad you could clear that up for me. What about gt4? Essentially the same, right? And I would also like a little info on what my motor can handle before I have to do internal work. Like how many lbs of boost and what-not.

Gt-4 has super strut witch is completely diffrent too
If you want to lower it your best bet is to get coilovers for a 94-99 gt
Or you. Could just get lowering springs an new struts. Witch would be cheaper.

It was a fun car. WAY underpowered and like hell to work on (electrically speaking), but had it not been completely trashed I would have bought it back.

While it wasn't a daily driver car, it sure did draw a crowd at shows.

No one really spends time tucking the 5S. MR2 guys might, but they're more about tucking the 3S

Id take the time to tuck my wires. Why not? Because its just an underpowered 5sfe? I don't think about things like that. I like to pay attention to small details

I'm all about taking the time to tuck under powered motors lol. That's my old EF four door with an LS swap. So the Turbo 5sfe shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

Looks nice and clean. Its all about what one wants to do. I think a wire tuck on a 5sfe would really clean up the clutter in there and will look nice.

was the previous owner a 6gc guy? That's pretty involved for the work done.
Also nice find! Def need an intercooler, but that will be a monster of a 5s when its done (assuming they rebuilt the interior with the appropriate internals)
Be careful with what you put into it as far as boost in concerned without knowing if they put forged internals in the motor.... seeing the rattle can paint job, the body kit, and the untuned turbo with no intercooler, could be a 1 man garage job who just wated to "get parts overnight from Harry"

Take your time and add the appropriate safety features, proper tune, WTA, and on stock internals you should be good to 14 or 15 lbs if there isn't any significant wear, damange, or high mileage.

Nice to not see someone stroll in with a 7a and ask hw much POWAHH it'll make
