Put some dynamite in the door and blow it up, that always works smile.gif j/k

Im sure there is a wire somewhere that all you have to do is cut it and the noise stops.

I cant remember exactly how it works but there is a connector on the ignition switch (a little 2 pin one) that is the 'key in the ignition' switch. Unplug it and the car won't know when the key is in. I think that'll eliminate what you're talking about.

That can cause problems if you leave it unplugged though...without that wire, your steering column will lock and stuff. wink.gif

U sure??? I've been driving with it like that for the last several thousand miles. I think the steering lock is controlled by the actual mechanicals of the ignition switch. It would be too much of a liability for toyota to have it electrically controlled....kinda like having electric brakes....what if the battery goes dead? Steering locks and you have no brakes? That would suck!!!

You must be right. I just assumed that it used the key-in wire because I was able to start my car but the steering would lock up unless the key was in the ignition. wink.gif

I found this on my convertible but try it anyway...

take the interior quarter panel off, look by where the button is, there should be wires comming from it.

It has a male/female connect....so disconect it and there wink.gif

Turn your key to the ON position and the beeping will stop.

That works, but it leaves the ignition and ecu on. More of a drain on the battery and not really good for stuff.

Besides draining the battery which its designed to do, whats it bad for? Ur electronics are on all the time, having the car off but stuff on doesnt do ne thing. Only thing it is going to do is drain teh battery, and if u have ur system blaring its going to go pretty quick, just dont have the system on.

I personally wouldn't bother to stop the beeping. I just use the stereo in my home. It does seem like a good project tho.

its not necessary to have it on the ON position so why should/would i do that

Yeah I do that a lot too so that would be a good idea to disconnect it. Especially when it's hot and stuff and you're just waiting in your car listening to music...

OK think about that for a second. You want the beeping to stop, so the easiest way of doing that is to turn your car on. The beeping will stop, but ur car wll be on. Its not going to drain the battery SO MUCH more faster, but its going to what you want it to.

I dont know what you do for so long that you want the radio on and the door open but if your working with any electronics in your car you definately should have the battery disconnected.

So in conclusion, the reason you would do that is to stop the beeping which you so much desire. I dont think you have the know how to be taking your car apart.

thats great....your comment was pointless and unproductive....obviously u also dont "have the know how to be taking your car apart" if your only advice is to put the key to the ON position...how origional...you think you can say something productive some time? thanks

Your sucha lil prick. You love starting with people. First off, I did my own swap. So your comment that i dont have the know how to be taking my car apart is complete garbage, and everybody knows that, including yourself. I'm right, you dont have the know-how. Secondly, my comment was the best comment you got. Its the best solution to your issue. You want your beeping to stop, unless you plan on ripping apart your dash and stuff, its not going to stop. Or, you can turn the key, and your car will be technically on.

Maybe you just dont understand what im saying. Take the key, and instead of having on ACC, go to ON. NOT START! I'm not saying start your car I'm saying turn on your dash and fan and stuff. Thats all that changes, so instead of having JUST your radio on, you'll have a few others things on, like a few lights on your dash and stuff. Its the quickest and easiest solution to your issue.

So you wanna come at me with non-sense, like I dont kno what im talknig about, then fine you spit ur garbage. But you above all people know thats all your spitting.

alright alright lets try again....hmmm...this is what i am saying..."i want to be able to open my door without it beeping while it is on ACCESSORIES ." do you understand yet? i dont want it on ON. OK? you get it yet? want me to say it one more time?

also how do I know u did your own swap? i mean really? (dont even comment on this dont get tooo much off topic)

You keep being this unappreciative with advice and help, nobody is going to give you any. I didnt plan on starting more BS with you I posted to actually help you out with a quick and easy solution. I wasnt putting you or anybody else down. Frankly, I hate your guts. But i still posted to help out. But since you wanna throw that back like its pointless and unproductive, which makes no sense because the point was to get the beeping to stop and productivity has nothing to do with me. So the next time you want help, dont expect to get much cuz you dont appreciate the help you do get.

Well your majesty, START RIPPING APART YOUR DASH. Cuz thats the only way to do it big guy. But we all know your not going to do that. In fact, I think your going to end up putting the key to ON position. How bout doing some real mods on your car?

And how do YOU know I did my own swap, well i guess YOU dont. But i have Pics to back it up, I have the know how to back it up. I dont lie, i dont BS about my car. I got pics with the enging out, i got pics with my car on a flat bed WITH the engine right next to it.

Keep going fella.

HUH?! WHAT?! Could ur response possibly be more pathetic.
You've already been told how to do it...i wasnt telling you how to disconnect the wires...cuz No, I dont kno how to make the beeping stop VIA disconnecting wires...but then again i never said i did. I told you to turn the key, or to start ripping up ur dash. So go do one or the other.

It shouldn't be a problem. John hasn't had any troubles and he knows his stuff, so I doubt that you would have a problem. wink.gif

anybody got any wiring diagrams, you might be able to find the the wire that is connected to the thing that senses if door is opened or closed(the thing mac tapes over). i think its going to be behind your panels beside your driver seat or right behind it..take a few screws out to take panel off..look around to see if you see any wires going toward the door opening

I believe the buzzer is behind the driverside kick panel. Just take it out, or bypass it.

Actually its built into the jump panel thing under the steering wheel to the left... i think its removable its really annoying to get too... there is no really easy way to disable it... there is a fuse for IT in the engine bay but it also takes out your interior lights...

you kids play nice now.

Not having your ignition know the key is will suck! lol Cuz if you laccidentally leave ur key in the ignition and get out and lock the doors, normally they'd unlock automatically cuz u forgot ur key in ignition but that wouldnt happen anymore. You'd be **** outta luck! This hapened once, and I was glad I still ahd that wire connected cuz slim-jiming our cars is a bitch...you need the under-the-glass tool.
