So next summer it'll be time for some new rotors since mine are getting old and I'm replacing most of the braking system. Right now I have drilled and slotted rotors on the car, but I'm not sure where they came from since the previous owner put them on. I don't know how it feels to have plain rotors on the car, but I'd rather have cross drilled or drilled and slotted on the car. I've heard of a few places such KVR Performance Brakes, iRotor (which I've heard mixed reviews), Powerstop, and then there is the stuff off ebay. I want to know what you guys would recommend as far as rotors go.
P.S. I don't want to hear any crap about why you don't need cross drilled or drilled and slotted. It's my preference, if you don't like it, don't say anything about it. This post has been edited by mkernz22: Aug 30, 2012 - 1:55 PM |

You should bold your postscript just in case.
I have just slotted rotors from EBC. They have a slotted and drilled version. Them, along with EBC pads are great. -------------------- ![]() 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

My mistake, EBC doesnt have through or cross drilled rotors.
They have blind drilled rotors which is essentially dimpling would you consider that route?

Currently RockAuto has where you can get http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=3806433 for $292.73 shipped, after using discount code.

I'm probably going to go with these ones, but I still have time to decide. I'd rather have through drilled instead of the dimpling because it'll help cool off the brakes more. I've had a few times where I've lost my brakes because I got on them too hard, for too long, and they heated up too much. I mean I'm also getting the MR2 Turbo Calipers for the front so it will definitely help with the braking bias and won't put as much stress on the front brakes. |

My Slotted setup on auto-x along with the ebc red pads gave me zero brake fade. Mr2 calipers would be a good upgrade -------------------- ![]() 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

I think he said it was around $40 - $60 for all 4 so I'm assuming they are on the cheaper side. I just looked into those EBC Redstuff pads and I'm definitely going to get those. I'm still going to get that package deal from RockAuto, but just sell the pads that come with it cause they're cheap $25 pads. I've already bought the MR2 caliper from someone on here |

It's my preference, if you don't like it, don't say anything about it. for the most part, they assist with braking. There are so many ways to improve braking, bigger piston from a bigger compatible caliper, more pistons such as bbk or st205 calipers, bigger brake pad with a bigger caliper, bigger rotor with matching caliper, slotted/drilled/cross dilled rotors, brake lines, brake pads, etc. i think theres even brake master dampers for some cars but not ours but i heard theres one brand that fits ours, i dont recall. I would go for the name brand rotors but that takes a hit to the wallet. theres no other way. But in terms of even ebay rotors which I bought for my friend, cus of money constraints, he never complained, but then again he never had it long enough to notice brake pad wear, warps, or wtvr. you can get brembo blanks or the low end model rotors from big brand names that have OEM sizes if there are any. -------------------- 94 Celica GT

I'm going with the Power Stop ones off of RockAuto. If not those, then the cross drilled ones from KVR. I've heard a lot of good stuff about KVR from s13 & s14 guys, as well as some other car people. But the RockAuto's are my first pick since I want the drilled and slotted. |

It's my preference, if you don't like it, don't say anything about it. i have drilled and slotted rotors too even though i don't really need them under normal driving lol. but before getting new rotors id suggest measuring them and seeing if they are thick enough to get machined if they are then great! you don't even need to get new ones. if you do need new ones ebay rotors are just fine i don't use them personally but i know people who have and they don't have problems with them.. so you really can't go wrong with rotors as long as they fit. but i wouldn't get extremely cheep ones either because cheeper rotors tend to warp pretty quickly and i doubt you want to get your rotors machined every few months. |

No, my rotors are just complete crap lol and I'm not going with ebay rotors because I'd rather not risk it.
