Just took the Gt-Four out for the first time yesterday... Well, that's what I planned to do.
Everything went well until I first clutched.. The rear left wheel is jammed and won't turn. It was fine when I stored it a while back. I can only see 2 options, either a jammed caliper or parking brake cable. I'm not an expert but I can do things by myself. Could anybody help me with troubleshooting my problem? How can I find what's the problem and what do I need to do to fix it? Thanks. |

If you are still unable to turn the axle I would remove the halfshaft from the hub. With the halfshaft only connected to the differential you can check both the differential and hub for rotation seperately. I would actually least suspect the differential. Just from my general knowledge the spider gear(even lsd) in the center means that neither axle could actually lock up, especially if the other axle is fine. I suspect the brake but it could somehow be the hub. |

i wouldn't be suprised if the parking brake cable seized up for that side. it's happened to 2 of my previous celicas...

Just set it free! It actually was the parking brake cable... Been sitting in the rain for 2 hours smashing a hammer at my hub hoping it'd release the pads inside... Seems like it worked! Still thanks to those who have replied
![]() I feel soooo damn stupid though. I almost forgot to put the wheel back on when I gave it some gas while on the jack.. I would've killed me if something happened. I'm never working on any car in the dark... Ever. |

It would burn up your LSD too.
One time I reached my arm in the window of my 64 chevy pickup to test start it after a repair and it was in gear. It chugged forward and plowed into the side of a Lincoln Towncar. A $10 chrome piece on the lincoln was the only damage ![]() |
