Hi,

I am looking to put a new steering wheel on my car, mine is worn out.

Will a 00-02 bolt straight on to a 98 GT. From the looks of it, it should? Any advice before I buy one?

Thanks.

It'll bolt on but there is mild wiring work involved.

Are there instructions on this? I only found 4 spoke to 3 spoke instructions, but didn't see instructions from a 3 spoke to 7 gen 3 spoke.

Thanks in advance.

yes it bolts right on, just take the airbag off, then unbolt the wheel. wiggle it off, you dont need a puller. then put on the 7th gen wheel. you have to use the 6th gen cruise control and hold it in with screws. the airbag i de-pinned the connector and just spliced them together. there is an adapter out there but its hard to find.

here is a copy paste from my thread on Supraforums, the Supra is the same setup

ok i went out and took pics and realized that i never finished the Supra, i did the wiring splice on my 6th gen celica. They both are the same. when i bring the car home from the shop ill take the wheel off and get pics. but here is what i have so far. what i do know is I de-pinned the car side and cut the airbag side and then spliced them together permanently. I think what ill do on the Supra is make quick disconnects so its not permanent.

I bought my harness from here:

Had it in a few days. Completely plug and play.

the 6th gen 3 spoke and 7th gen 3 spoke are exactly the same thing, only differences are the air bag appearance and they are interchangeable 3 spoke air bags. The late model Celica like 98-99 the wiring became like the 7th gen, which means you either rewire or buy the adapter harness if you originally have a 94-97 celica, theres a pretty big thread on it.
