O.k. Pulling 7afe from a 95 st and want to know if it possible to just pull the engine? Or do I have to pull trans and all as one unit? Looking at possible rebuild if it's not too bad. Found lots of info on how to pull trans but nothing about pulling just the motor. Thanks.

Blood sweat and a few choice words and it came right out...Right after I unhooked the tranny. Next is to see what went wrong. Got a little copper colored shavings and some larger pieces that look like shaved metal in the pan.

sounds like bearings.

its much easier to pull both the engine and trans together. especially when putting it back in. good luck getting the clutch and everything lined up. trust me, take the trans out and bolt them together before you put it back in.

i wrote a detailed guide on how to rebuild the 7A, its in the stickies
