Hey guys, been awhile. Some of you might remember my car (it was Celica of the Month once! laugh.gif), the black Celica with the Postert lip and Racing Hart wheels:

It was a lovely car, but only a 1.8 N/A so I got bored of it fairly quick. I bought an MR2 (non turbo) afterwards and a Supra MKIV (non turbo) shortly after that but something just felt off.. And I missed my Celica. smile.gif

So I bought another one.. This time a white 1994 ST205 Celica GTFour WRC model!

It has a couple of mods, including a BC Racing coilover set, 18" Team Dynamics wheels, a Mongoose exhaust, a Blitz dumpvalve and an APEX'i AVC-R boostcontroller. Ofcourse I have some nice mods in mind, plan is to get her looking even better than the black one, so I'm already on the hunt for some epic wheels! Anyway, I'm picking her up in England this saturday so I'll update this post and start another project thread. I seriously cannot wait!

redface.gif that's an impressive collection of cars you've had.... But you can't beat a 205 wink.gif

Car looks great, and a lot of the expensive stuff has been done for you, so you just have the fun bits left smile.gif

Looking forward to seeing a project thread! smile.gif

Ik heb het al tig keer gezien, Celica verkocht en twee auto's verder, hup weer terug naar de eerste keus. Goed dat het een 205 is. Hoe veel kost zoiets in Engeland?

I'm not sure, but I think so, since this is necessary right?

@SwissFerdi - they're not really expensive in the UK right now, you can get a decent one right around £3000/3500. Ofcourse you'll have to go pick it up and import it back here, but still, it's very affordable!

Cost and importing isn't the problem, it's that our government won't let us title it until it's over 25 years old.

Welcome back though, and at least now you have a proper sports car to work on. Look forward to what you'll be doing to it.

Excellent, thanks for the answer. That is very cheap, for such a good car. I have seen that the NA MX-5 is around the same price.

As far as I know, TRD and Tien were the only ones to make super strut coilovers.

Love your black one. It's what made me want to get my rpf1. Wasn't a fan of these style of spoked rims until I saw how clean it was on your car. Lol. Can't wait to see what you do to your gt4.

What's the import law? 20 years?

25 for being able to get it titled legally, expect to see a lot of R32 Skylines soon. You can still import cars before then, but they can only be used for shows and such. There's a special kind of title of sorts for it, and it's eluding me at the moment. Otherwise all of the import meets wouldn't have the cars that they do. Ehh like Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld have a Porsche 959, that wasn't sold in the states, but it's a special thing. It's some kind of visa for the car that allows to be over here for displaying purposes. Could research it, but what's the point in buying a car that you can't even drive except for maybe events.

I haven't really looked into it, but I'm also under the assumption a lot of people import cars from Canada. In Canada I think the import law is 15 years, and I know it's no more than 20. Anyhow people in the states will get a car titled in Canada via family/friend what have you or buy one already there and titled, then supposedly that makes it able to be titled in the United States without being 25 years old. Something about Canadian cars being similar to U.S. spec makes it easier. It also has a lot to do with each state. Alabama for example doesn't do a physical inspection of any sort for vehicle registration, so that'd make life easier for applying for a title. Then once it has an Alabama title it's legally titled in all 50, despite not having the same procedures as California might for example. Supposedly the easiest way of doing it is importing the car and having it titled as a kit car, rather or not that works who's to say. What a lot of people do(which I highly advise against) in our instances, where there was a USDM and more desirable JDM version is they get a titled USDM car and swap all of its VIN #s onto the JDM car. They then proceed with destroying the USDM car and pass off the JDM car as being legal.

Any who, not to distract from the original topic too much... Have any plans yet for the car?

I just picked it up yesterday, but I've got my work (and that of a good mechanic) cut out for me.

- Clutch is slipping bad. Needs to be replaced. Can't even drive full throttle.
- Brakes are shuddy. Will replace them with brand new discs and pads (possibly Stoptech).
- There's a bit of rust on the door, but it's a 6GC thing. A bit of surface rust also but nothing out of the ordinary, the body is in good condition.
- The interior looks terrible. tongue.gif It has color coded panels in white which I don't like, so I'll convert everything back to OEM, including the steering wheel (there's a MOMO wheel in there). But there are no tears or cracks, so otherwise the interior is very clean!

Those are the bad things! The good things are that the engine feels great when the clutch isn't slipping, the BC coilovers are in very good condition and before the sale the previous owner had the car detailed so the paint looks pretty shiny. It also has a nice alarm system. Also, since it's a WRC version (only 2500 made) it has some fun things like the intercooler spray nozzles (which aren't hooked up, but I'll do that in the future).

It's a great car, she really sticks to the road, it's insane how fast you can take corners in this thing. Modification wise, I want projector headlights bad (they look so hot on white GT4's), I want it lowered a couple inches more, C-One lip, some sideskirts, some rear spats and some wide (9,5j probably) 18" wheels! But first things first.. Gotta get the clutch and the brakes fixed first. All in all, I'm happy with the car! Here's some pics I took when I cleaned her today:

Current modifications include:

- 18" Team Dynamics wheels (white ones on one side, black on the other..... lol)
- BC Racing BR Series coilovers
- Mongoose 3" catback exhaust
- Random ugly open air filter thingy which I'll replace with an Apexi one
- SARD blow-off valve
- APEX'i AVC-R boostcontroller
- Blitz Turbo Timer
- JDM facelift tail lights

You forgot to include the "goofy sticker" lol.

Love it. I dream of having one for myself one day. Right next to a SW20, and an AE86. I dream of being broke.
