Ive been having some problems with my celica and i just cant figure it out i was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and could help me. First off i have a 1994 Celica GT 2.2l 5sfe. The car runs and drives good but as soon as i shut it off i have to wait about 5mins before i can start it back up again. Ive already replaced the distributor with a brand new one. PLEASE HELP ME

Ignition coil or starter perhaps. Is it the 5-speed? If so next time it does it try push starting it.

ignition coil is inside of distributor and is new and it is speed but how would trying to pop start it give the vehicle the spark it is missing?

Guess should've asked, but does it even turn over when this happens? If so then forget what I said. Only thing I can figure is vapor lock perhaps.

Just had a semi similar issue where my distributer had gone out and it also ruined my igniter. Might give that a shot. Its only like a $30 part.

my best guess would be your ECT sensor, since you've been driving it, it does not know your car is hot or cold. for example, if the car is actually hot, but your ECT sensor is dead, it thinks its cold, and dumps more gas than needed. Once the engine cools down and all that extra gas disappears, now it starts. ECT measures and tells the ECU to determine the right fuel and ignition timing.

Only other thing is MAYBE a relay.
