I am trying to address these three issues, just bought the car. Great shape, new tires, new brakes, 175k, for $500. Hell of a deal...
Anyway, the sunroof pops up, but does nothing when I use the switch to slide it back...any ideas? Also, the trunk lever has been broken and glued several times by POs, and it is once again broken by me. The key cylinder is also jammed, and quick fixes for the cylinder or how much I can get a new lever for? Thanks, D |

You should find out if there are any celicas at the local junkyards, it can be very cheap source of spare parts like trunk lever and such. Cylinder is a bigger problem though. It is unique for your key, and if you wish to change it, you'll need to get a spare one, break both apart, and very carefully reassign the parts from one to another. I think there is a thread about it here, check the sticky threads and/or use the search.
No ideas for the sunroof, I would take a closer look at the wiring and fusing if I were you. -------------------- |

I had the same problem with my trunk lock cylinder a few years back. I couldn't find a part number on ToyoDIY or at the dealership so I opted to repair my old one. Mine was a worst case scenario and was totally seized up inside. The locksmith had to order all new parts and it ended up costing me $170. Something to keep in mind, it might be cheaper to buy a used but working cylinder and have it rekeyed for your car.

I have a trunk lever, $25 shipped. PM me thanks Thanks for the replies, all. Is that just the lever, or how does it disassemble/attach? It could be my cable that is binding somewhere, causing un-needed stress on the lever. Who knows... 2 cables are attached to it. Trunk and gas. It is mostly plug and play. You have to take the seat out, remove the door sill, pull out the carpet a lil bit, remove the handle and replace. It is like replacing bike brake cables. -------------------- God made man....

I have a complete lock set for sale if you want to replace the everything.
Also I have the interior levers if you need them. Open the hatch and pull off the plastic exposing the back of the lock. Make sure the cables and springs are not jammed. -------------------- |
