Hello,
I'm going to change my gearbox within the next month. I hope someone has a good how-to on changing the gearbox. I'm also changing to the shifter cable and the 6 gear box/w lever of the C160. So hope anyone can tell me how to tackle that part. And how should i remove my OEM Toyota (Victor) leather gearknob. First i unscrewed the bolt then I tried turning it, but it won't move. Any ideas. Thanks in advance. -------------------- |

Each cable is secured with a c-clip to a bracket on top of the gearbox. The ends are connected to the linkage via a rod and pin.

When you get to the shift linkage its pretty much self explanatory. You should be able to get it off from the car fairly easy.

Twist harder? Every gearknob I've seen comes off one way, turning to the left.
![]() You can see one c-clip in this picture. The bracket on the transmission is the same. This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Sep 13, 2013 - 6:47 AM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]
