Hello, I have a 7A-FE and I was wondering when is the best time to shift gears to achieve good 1 mile times.
I am reading specifications on the engine and it states that the maximum power is at 5800 RPM. In your opinion, is that the place where gear change should occur or I should let it rev a little higher, just barely in red line(like 6500 RPM), so when I shift, the engine will still be at high RPM, around it's maximum power.

I haven't seen a 7A power curve, but I think they generally fall off reasonably quickly, so probably best to change up around 5800-6000 rpm IMO.

P.S. Can you please stop posting everything in bold? tongue.gif

The redline is there for a reason. tongue.gif Some years peak at 5,200 and some peak at 5,600. If you want maximum efficiency shift at 3,000 or a tad lower. tongue.gif
