Hey gang. Most of you probably don't even remember me. Which is probably best for you and me. I had some time to kill this morning so I thought i'd come check in. This was such a great community and I made a lot of friends and some I still am in contact with.

-natalie

here was my celica smile.gif

Now I have a g35

Is it always so dead in here? When i was active there were responses all the time and the off topic page would have a page full of responses from that day. Hmm maybe kids these days just have too much social media to keep up on. Back in my day we only have 6gc.net and Myspace smile.gif

Oh yay some responses smile.gif

Glad there's some people alive around here. Is Coomer apart of this anymore? I ran into him randomly about 3 years ago when he was riding his bike down a hill in seattle. well I didn't literally run into him. I was crossing the street and recognized him.

I'm trying to make it more active by passing the word, but people just aren't as into their 6g's around me as I'd like. Met a new GT owner today at work though... Maybe he will get on here...

Trying to bring excitement to an almost 20 year old economic box is a tough thing to do! Pretty much just expect a small dedicated community and very little growth from now on.

Unless it is a Honduh anyway.

It's just part of it, the Celica is "just a car" for most that own them. Then again the type of "enthusiasts" that own the other econo-boxes we wouldn't want around here anyway. So, damned if you do damned if you don't.

It's possible, I see excitement in 37 year old nostalgics doing crazy swaps. It's all about demographics, unfortunately....

I am in love with it. It's truly my realistic dream car. However, my celica is my true love. Wish I still had the celica but all good things must come to an end.

It seems pretty common that after having a celica people move on to a 350z or g35.

I love my Z. Unfortunately I'm selling it and moving on. Lucky enough to keep the Celica. The Z's/G's are some great cars, definitely the most fun I've had behind the wheel.

It's not only here that seems to be dead. THe whole scene has died down a lot since the early 2000's. No one even gives my car a second glance now and im sure if I had my celica it would be called rice now days even though it was pretty clean.

I now find myself saying "when i was your age...." to kids when they talk to me about the car scene. lol. i feel old!

Infiniti are plenty though...you may say their number is almost...infinite? At least where I live. The industry isn't as focused on visuals anymore, it's all "hoon factor."

Hello, its very quiet around here now. I pop in once and while to see whats going on, lots of people have moved on. I see coomers old car running around every so often (no idea who owns it but someone near me does) needs some work, Mine is long gone. I also have a G35 now, can't blame celica people going that route there great cars. I still have the scoobs too.

I hate social media. Though I can somewhat understand it over forums as it's convenient if you're into social media already anyway, and it's probably easier to get local groups together as well. I don't think forums will die out completely as there're a lot of things it'd be difficult or inconvenient trying to use some form of social media layout. I think the biggest issue, and with car forums dedicated to older models specifically, is that everything has already been done a million times. Then when someone new posts asking about whatever the few still around are like "USE SEARCH BAR" or "GOOGLE IT".

I always refer people to search the forum(s) or google whenever they ask about something on Facebook and it's already been done.
Most say "I can't find anything" then it takes me a 1 minute to search this or alltrac.net and find what they need. So lazy.

that's exactly the problem. not us telling people to use the search or google. but people blatantly being ignorant and just asking simple questions that with 2 seconds they can find themselves. 6gc on facebook isn't too bad but other pages are filled with "which ebay intake should i buy?" everyday.

same here. i still find it funny that everyone's excuse is always, "I can't figure out how to use the forums, so that's why I ask on facebook." it's not that hard. everything's sectioned off into it's rightful place. exterior, interior, turbo, na etc. hahaha.
