Hello: Just wondering what should be the RPM for the ST Hatchback with 1.8L engine at say 70MPH and 80MPH in 5th gear. I drove the first time on highway and was hitting 4000 @80 to 85PMH. Is this normal? I have not bled the clutch yet or changed the oil in the transmission (that is next).
Please let me know. Thanks |

Ehh, I'm trying to remember what mine was like and that sounds about right. You have to remember these cars have a high final ratio and relatively small wheel diameter.

Thanks Box; I certainly feels differerent in this car. My other vehicle is Frontier Nismo 4.0 with 6 speed manual and it drives very different so coming off of that to this one obviously feels different.

Every car is different. The 4th gen F-body with the 6-speed is only churning some 1500 rpm's at 70 mph.
