As much as we all dream of picking up a twin turbo Supra, Brigette and I were able to make it happen this weekend. smile.gif Things started falling into place a few months ago so we sold our 350Z to make room to bring home my dream car. I still miss the 350Z on a daily basis, don't get me wrong. I loved that car and I plan on picking another one up in a few years, but I'm not in a place where I can have two RWD sports cars so I had to let it go. But I believe this is worth it. HUGE thanks to Dustin and Stef for going to check this car out for me before I flew up to Boston to pick it up! They were VERY thorough with the car.

It's a bone stock 1997 (so 15th anniversary limited edition), twin turbo, six speed, Targa top, 77k miles on the clock, Deep Jewel Green. It has some minor imperfections, but it's exactly what I wanted. It's a car that I'm not afraid to get out of the garage 7 days a week, rain or shine, and daily drive. So without further ado, PIKCHARS!

Of course, I wasted no time in yanking the stock radio out and putting a Pioneer touch screen in. Hey, it's a long drive home from Boston. Gotta listen to the music on my phone somehow, plus the stock radio is lame. Truth be told, I ordered the radio, soldered the harness together, then shipped the radio up to Dustin and Stef and installed it right before the CSP meet. laugh.gif Then we got home a little earlier today, and I put some LED's from Diode Dynamics in the license plate lights. I've had a 7th gen steering wheel sitting around for a few months waiting to go in this car. I was going to do the same project as my Celica and make the E shift buttons work as volume control for the radio, but I may end up selling this wheel and buying one without the buttons. I'm undecided.

Along with the car, I got an insane amount of documentation. Stef printed off the Carfax and the Toyota dealership records for the car, which is pretty comprehensive. Targa seals recently replaced, tail shaft seal replaced, pretty new clutch and rear brakes. What I didn't know is that the seller had receipts and invoices for all of this, as well as the original window sticker, wallet key, a Carfax from a few years ago, the brochure for the car bra that came with the car, and loads of other goodies. So, with everything set in place, Brigette and I bought some plane tickets and flew up to Boston to pick the car up, just in time ti catch the CSP meet. All in all it was a great trip, the car drove fantastic, and I couldn't be any happier.

So with all of that said, I'll go ahead and answer the inevitable questions in advance.

How much did you pay for it?
Enough to bring it home.

Is it fast?
Oh yeah, it hauls. It won't blow your mind, thanks to a 3,400 lb curb weight and 320 hp stock. But a few basics free up a decent amount of power, which totally transforms the car.

Are you going to build it to a trillion horsepower?
Highly unlikely. I'm leaning towards leaving it stock. If I do anything to it, it'll be BPU so I can easily return it to stock.

So now that you own a Supra, are you going to become an a**hole?
Not at all. It's just a car, no reason to think it's better than anyone else's car.

Can I have/buy your Celica?
GTFO with that talk. The Celica is still my baby, and is still going under the knife for some more improvements soon.

So, there's my new toy. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. smile.gif The seller wasn't really into Supras. He and his wife just like sports cars, so back in '02 he picked up this car for his wife and a 97 Royal Sapphire Pearl TT 6 speed for himself. The RSP's are currently bringing top dollar, since it's a very desireable color. He and his wife daily drove both cars in California for a few years, then moved to Boston. Their commutes were very short in Boston so both cars stayed low mileage, and eventually his wife started taking the train to work. Gus recently decided it's time to move on, so he just joined SupraForums to sell his cars. He got the RSP sold in no time and contacted me about this one, but he still needed a car so he couldn't sell it right away. He's replacing the mkIV's with a pair of Porsches, a Cayman S and a Panamera hybrid. He had to order both cars so the Cayman finally came in and we were able to pick the Supra up. It's a great car to drive! It makes the Celica feel tiny, and makes the 350Z feel like an ordinary sedan.

The wheels, unfortunately, are fubar'd. I don't particularly care for the stock TT wheels anyway, especially not the chrome ones. I'll probably commit a big sin and put a coat of PlastiRice on them just to dress them up a bit, and again easily return them to stock if I ever feel the need.

Norberto, shoot me a text about the steering wheel. smile.gif

The factory chrome TT wheels bring in a pretty penny. They're supposedly lighter than previous years.

Congrats on the fantastic car...

I was thrilled for you getting your dream car, and then my head about exploded when you said he had an RSP as well.

Not surprised that one went in a heartbeat though. (sigh)

Soon....

Just some evidence of some of the goodies I got with the car. Don't mind that, it's just a 97 Supra FSM! In addition to all of the service records I have.

Reeeeealllllllly? Interesting.... I don't wanna sell them, but I'd like something better. These have plenty of weight reduction. They left plenty of weight on many different curbs. laugh.gif

Thanks. thumbsup.gif Here's the RSP he had, only pic I have of it. Then here's my Supra with the Cayman that replaced it.

Had a visit from a 1JZ today. That's 5.5 liters worth of JZ in one spot. smile.gif

Then I gave the car it's first coat of wax. Need to change the oil soon. Tomorrow I'll put the 7gc wheel in and do the wastegate helper spring mod. The car had a car bra on it too, so the paint on the front bumper is kinda flat. We are seriously contemplating getting it repainted.

your pic is upside down!!!!

Welcome to the club of owning a 1997 Limited Edition TT 6 speed. Let me know when you are ready to upgrade to a single. Let me give you this bit of information. on 16psi with the stock twins I made about 380 HP. When I upgraded to a single 62-1 turbo, at the same boost level, i made almost 500. Thats right, same boost, and made about 110 more HP. All on the stock ECU.

The supra is so forgiving and just wants to make power.

Photobucket has been doing that to me a lot lately. It displays properly on my phone so I never know when it's sideways or upside down until I see it from a desktop. Fixed it. smile.gif I was hoping you'd chime in! I'm already ready to go single turbo, but I'm not sure if I'm going to or not. Whatever I do to the car, I'll make sure I can return it to stock. We both wanted a white one but we (meaning I) like Deep Jewel Green. This one has some rust on the control arms and suspension so I'm contemplating cleaning it up, flipping it and buying a BPU Supra or another stock one but in white. I'll probably keep this one though. I want a Precision 6266 and ideally 500 hp, maybe less. I want it to be quick but still very streetable with minimal lag. E85 is available here but not really common enough to be worth it so I need to stay on pump gas. Odds are I'll stay on the stock ECU anyway so pump gas may be fine.

So, small update. I traded Brigette cars for the day and brought the Supra home to swap steering wheels. Decided to take the top off since it was a nice day. I didn't notice it when I first bought the car but maaaan...... It gets flexible with the top off. You can feel the front end twist left and rear end twist right. Definitely not ideal for track days. tongue.gif But this isn't a track car, it's a DD. Anyway, pikchars!

Gotta start with the proper tools. Tea and a steering wheel puller.

If you think the targa flex is bad, just wait until it rains and floods your interior. Should condition the seals if they look to be on the dry side.

Nice job on the 3-post, though those useless buttons would drive me crazy. redface.gif

Also, was it sweet tea? Because that really matters as to the integrity of everything.

Targa seals were replaced last March. smile.gif I didn't take the time to hook them up today but the buttons are destined for the same use as my Celica, as volume controls for the radio. Or I'll sell it, I don't know. I don't care for the perforated leather. I would prefer another IS300 steering wheel to match what's in my Celica. It's much more plain, but I prefer it that way.

And the tea was VERY sweet tea. I like my tea to have the consistency of molasses. laugh.gif

That's good then, just make sure to keep them all nice and conditioned and you should be good to go.

Hmm, maybe you can find someone to trade then.

GOOD! If it doesn't begin fermenting on the second day you're doing it wrong. tongue.gif

Baby steps.

And a few short minutes (translated: many minutes more than what it takes in a 6gc) later...

Similar to the 6gc, the gauges have some green tint on the back, so I still have a hint of green. Nothing a little sanding can't fix, but not today.

Toyota got rid of a lot of creature comforts that the MKIII had for the MKIV. Most of them were in the name of cutting weight and/or cost.

Off topic has been slow lately, so totally understandable to not worry about checking in. This will be a slow thread anyway so not worth checking often.

Honestly, the Celica interior. I prefer the Supra gauge cluster but after that, I prefer the Celica interior more. The 93-96 Supra had higher quality interior materials than the 97+ but even with that, I still prefer the Celica interior.

Annoying thread bump! I can't help but post this:

Yep. Toyota... Skylark. The state of Illinois fails. Also, pointy knees.

I just realized I haven't posted this either, but I decided to try cleaning up the wheels a few days ago. I used Mother's chrome polish. I'd be a liar if I said it brought the wheels back to life, but it did a great job of getting rid of the fine scratches. The wheels are still in terrible shape but they do look a bit better.

Then I decided to flush the brake fluid and clutch fluid since both were nasty. The clutch fluid had plenty of solid bits in it. Here's a friendly reminder on the importance of flushing your fluids:

Thats a far cry from the clear yellow color it's supposed to be. I'm glad I took the time to do this before my calipers or slave cylinder seized up.

Hopefully starting sometime shortly after Christmas, but probably not likely. I need to get a fence built in my back yard and remodel at least one room in the house, so the Supra will probably stay stock for a while.

Funny you should mention that, the seller had a '97 Royal Sapphire Pearl in addition to this car.

I'm not a fan of RSP myself, although it's one of the most popular and desired colors on a Supra these days. Manny's Celica is based on RSP but I strongly prefer his variation to the stock RSP.

Also, just in case you guys didn't know, it's boost season. tongue.gif

Long time, no reply! It's about time for an update. I've started on the power adders. I ditched the stock intake box in favor of a cone filter. The butt dyno shows no improvement whatsoever, but it certainly sounds better! I'm sure it added a couple of ponies considering two turbos need a lot of air to breathe, but I can't feel a difference. I had a wastegate helper spring on it for a short while to see if I have a leaky wastegate. That definitely made a difference, but until I have a boost gauge to know what's happening under the hood, it's best that I don't tinker with it too much. Granted, it'll hit fuel cut at 18 psi and the helper spring is only good for about 2 psi, but I'd like to know what I'm working with before messing around too much.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. I knew when I bought the car that I would needs new tires and it definitely needed new brakes. The tires on it were summer tires, dated 3202. Manufactured the 32nd week of 2002. Needless to say, I was less than comfortable riding around on those, even though they had 75% tread life left. They made some scary noises on the highway. So I bought a set of BFGoodrich g-forces and decided to find a closed road and have some fun with the old tires.

After five solid clouds, there wasn't much left of the tires, so no videos available. Of course, keep in mind that I need new brakes anyway. I have paperwork and receipts showing that the rear brakes were replaced by Toyota not long before I bought the car. However, the rust on all four rotors, coupled with the grooves in the pads and rotors, tells me that these brakes have had a hard life in the few thousand miles they've been on the car. I thought I heard a caliper dragging last weekend so I took everything apart today to try and find the issue. Fortunately for me, my very expensive calipers are all in top notch shape. They need fresh paint, but all the slider pins move freely and none of the calipers are seized. However, I did find that the driver side parking brake is seized. I wasn't able to remove the rotor. Given that all four rotors have grooves, I decided to bite the billet this evening and spend nearly $500 on OEM pads and rotors for all four corners, as well as parking brake shoes. Pretty expensive, but the tests on a '93 TT showed a stopping distance of 102' from 70 mph. Impressive by every measure, especially considering the 3,400 lb weight. It's a very capable braking system and I see no need to upgrade, so all OEM components are going back on. Hopefully the new parts get here this week so I can install them next weekend.

Side note, the rear rotors on this car are huge in comparison to what I'm used to seeing.

Everyone loves the Supra because of the power potencial, but Toyota over-engineered the thing so much that the brakes are just as if not more impressive. They basically put F1 tech into the braking system and abs computer, so that 70-0 stood as a WORLD RECORD for a production car until the Mercedes SLR with its flaming carbon ceramics. Nowadays obviously most high end sports cars and super cars use ceramics but it took 10+ years and a new compound to break the Supra's record.

Love the car, and hopefully there will be more updates as the weather warms.

Edit: Minor correction it was unseated by the Carrera GT... Not the SLR. Still amazing when you think of all the supercars around before then (Porsche GT2, GT3, Lotus Exige, and many other cars that were basically street legal race cars).

Correction: Everyone loves the 2JZ-GTE because of the power potential. Those things can be shoe-horned into damn near anything (Deloreans, Mustangs, 240s, Black & Decker blenders, Oral-B electric toothbrush, etc) and still make 1200HP. The JZA80 is just the lucky chassis that got to house it from production. Put a FE in the A80 chassis and no one would bat an eye at it. (over-exaggerating of course) wink.gif

The 2JZ is like the LS of Japanese motors. Stupid power for cheap, and it's reliable. I wouldn't mind a 2JZ Supra or Soarer, that or something converted like a 280Z(X) or 240SX.

You'd be surprised. Truthfully I don't make a whole lot more than you. It's all about how you spend it, plus I caught a lucky break. Definitely go back to college though! I'm only 25 myself but if I keep doing the job I'm doing, I'll be lucky to still be able to walk around comfortably when I'm 50. I fully intend to finish school myself, but it's not in the cards right now. But I digress: you can afford one. Save up a few thousand, and make sure you have a good credit score. Then go talk to your local credit unions. Most of them will finance older cars. You can find decent condition shells for $10-12k, or complete, running, clean NA 5 speeds for $15-20k. Put a few thousand down, finance a clean NA, and slowly build it up to anything you want it to be! Financing a car this old isn't the wisest decision you can make, but the NA 2JZ is bulletproof so you shouldn't have an issue with it breaking down while you are making payments. Plus you wouldn't be alone, I see Supras being financed frequently on SupraForums. Everything from 18 year olds just starting college are financing cheaper Supras and older guys are financing the more expensive ones, so their bank account doesn't take a huge hit and they are snagging them while interest rates are still low. Myself, I chose not to finance mine. Interest rates are low, yes, but I don't want to pay interest if I can avoid it and I really don't want to owe money month to month. You never know what the future holds, and banks are t forgiving on missed payments. /poor financial advice. laugh.gif

Well I guess your right. I work roughly 50-60 hours a week. I'm a sterile processing tech at a local hospital. Isn't to bad but it sucks. Having blood/bone chunk fly up onto your scrubs isn't to fun or get a mouth full of nasty bloody water isn't to good tasting either. Has only happened twice now I learned if I'm in the decontamination room don't talk to anyone unless your away from the sink lol. I might check out getting a loan but currently I have to much debt roughly 15k from all my Honda builts and 7k into my 95 Celica gt oh... And my lumbar support bed haha. Damn things amazing only ran a grand! I was thinking about a brz and doing a 2jz swap. I seen on Dr tweaks website its possible and the brz is super sexy and parts are so easy to come by. I couldve gotten a 87 turbo supra for 3k with 70k miles it was rather amazing shape just the window molds where shot. It wasn't fast at all and during test drive I think I ran it to hard... Radiator started smoking and coolant shot out haha. The guy didn't mind he said well time to fix that lol. I'll just keep with my Celica for the time being I plan on never getting rid of it. I can finally say its one car I've owned longer than 6 months. I've went thru at least 30-40 cars in last 3 years from miatas, mx3, integras, Del sols, civics, preludes, and even a Chevy caviler (paid 700$ for an 05 sold it for 1500 or else I wouldn't have owned a Chevy ...) This Celica I got I haven't had the urge to go trading or running the holy hell out of it like I did all my other cars. Next step is hopefully 4th gen 3gste swap from prime once I get enough money saved up only 4k I think Thats rather fair.

/poor financial advice. laugh.gif

I financed mine with $0 down and a 4.3% interest rate. Kinda regret it, but eh. What can I do now but enjoy it. My NA 2JZ was knocking and the seller was trying to hide it by running a heavier weight oil. Oh well.

And yeah, SC300 is definitely a great, cheaper alternative. You can find a few cleanly swapped ones for around the $6K mark. Another option would be the 2nd gen GS300. Same thing, but 4-door swag. You can find a few swapped ones around $8K and I've seen some legit Aristos for about $12K

Nothing much to update, but I can't call it stock anymore. Mr. NgoFcukinWay sent me a spare go-fast part, so now I have an RMM downpipe. Sounds better than it did before! It's starting to sound more like a proper 2JZ instead of some generic muffled engine noise. Doesn't really feel any faster but it definitely sounds better. Then I scored a $7 steering wheel from the junkyard last week so I pulled out the 7th gen GT-S auto steering wheel in favor of this one. No more e-shift buttons. I was going to make them work as volume control, but meh.

Then I'm whoring some mediocre pictures, just because.

You want to buy a spare body and engine? We've had one at the shop for almost 18 months and this guy just can't get his ****ing money together for the turbos it needs and we're getting sick of it taking up space.

Well I have no idea, I'd need to ask him what he'd want to sell it for. It's parked on the corner rack with no engine or trans in it or hood on it. All the parts are in the car. There's a JDM 2JZ with no turbos, 2 JDM turbos of questionable quality, two trashed USDM turbos to be used as cores with this place https://www.speedforsale.com/supraparts/spe...rwhp-p-553.html because the owner wants to keep it all stock as possible. It's an automatic, red, with some body kit and some axle back exhaust, some ugly wheels and crap for tires. It's got around 200K miles or 220K miles on it, all from the original owner. The USDM engine is no good, there's damage inside the block and I wouldn't trust it. It went kaput once, he had it 'rebuilt' and within 5K miles it tossed a rod bearing pretty hard, there's no hole in the block but there's a lot of dents inside where things whirled around.

I'd value it as it sits now the whole package around $7,500(???)just because of Supra tax and the spare engine/head. I'm shooting from outer space though, I have no idea what these things are worth when it's a situation like this. It's a project for sure! Also a free drivers side front fender because I backed a big pickup truck that was missing a mirror into it in the parking lot while it was sitting here, new from Toyota primed and ready to paint. I ate that ****up myself.

I still need to finish remodeling my house, get hitched, take a vacation, pour concrete in half of my garage, and find a different job before swapping the interior. I went to a couple of car shows last night and all of my local car friends seem to REALLY enjoy the new exhaust note.

I'm still on the fence for the meet. It could go either way. I was just messing around with the camera. Not really trying to get any great shots, just trying to learn how to use the camera and take better pictures with it. Those three didn't turn out too bad, except now I know that I have some residual wax on my front emblem. tongue.gif

Bit of an update. I don't guess I can really call the car stock anymore. I've had an intake and downpipe on for a little while but over the last few weeks I've gotten a bit more done. Started with a boost gauge and manual boost controller. For whatever reason, Toyota felt that it was best that these cars did not come with a factory boost gauge. Instead, they offer you a clock in a perfect circle that just so happens to be 52 mm.... Or the same size as most boost gauges. Potato quality pictures but you get the idea.

I'm still playing with the mbc and trying to get it set at 14.5 lbs. I hit boost cut at 14.7 so I want to give myself a little room to play with. It seems like no matter how many times I try, I'm either at wastegate pressure of 11.7 psi or else I hit boost cut in third gear. Still gotta play with that some more and find the sweet spot.

Regardless, the increase of a couple psi was highly addictive, so Mr. Ngo got me hooked up with an HKS Super Drager exhaust. It's comically gigantic but damn it sounds good! And it's not loud at all, which is a major plus for me since I can't stand loud exhaust.

That was too much chrome for me and attracted way too much attention so I painted the body of the muffler black to somewhat hide it underneath the car. Had to leave the gigantic tip chrome because it sticks so far out. Getting the turbo back exhaust finished up really woke the car up. I used to tell people it wasn't a 0-60 car and that fourth gear is where the fun began. I definitely can't stay that anymore. This thing is starting to haul ass!

I finally took the time last weekend to tackle another project that has been bothering me. The brake calipers look like complete crap and give the car's age away. Nothing some Duplicolor caliper paint can't fix.

Still have to get rid of the horribly destroyed chrome wheels but that's a project for next year. When Alex shipped the exhaust up here, he also hooked me up with a Greddy boost cut defender. That will let me turn the boost up past 1 bar (14.7 psi) without hitting boost cut. I haven't gotten it hooked up yet since I am still having some difficulty getting my mbc set just right. No need to destroy my cute little baby turbos because of a minor oversight with a manual boost controller.

Get that hooked up, turn the boost up to 18 psi, and get new spark plugs and I should be around 400-450 whp. Which will be fun, but time to park it. I'm already making it way too thirsty. laugh.gif

There's a place down south that'll take your stock turbo's as core and ship out some upgraded turbos that'll bolt right back in that are good to support around 600whp with the same or a little less lag than stock in sequential.
https://www.speedforsale.com/supraparts/spe...rwhp-p-553.html

That's them. For when the stockers take a ****.

I'm torn between the upgraded twins and a PTE 6266 for when the twins die. The single turbo opens up so much room in the engine bay, but at the same time I love the sequential setup and virtually no lag whatsoever.

I think you should deal with those beautiful but super curb rashed wheels first.

I say stay with the sequential setup if you're keeping it to the streets and autocross. Really the only time I can see going to a single turbo being a benefit is for big power you'd only use at the drag strip.

Beautiful? They weren't a fantastic design when they were new and that was BEFORE the previous owners got them. I'm getting new wheels when these tires are gone but there's no need to let a brand new set of tires go to waste.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NLU3QoUTKDA

One of the many reasons I'd love to keep sequential twins. That's way more power than I'll ever need and no lag. Just have to compare the cost of both setups. The 6266 isn't exactly laggy and supports more power than I can use. Hopefully I'm a few years away from needing to upgrade.

The stock twins have a weird habit of dipping around 4K RPMs when in sequential mode as it transitions from Turbo 1 to Turbo 2. You can actually see it in the dyno graph of the stock Quicksilver on SF. A friend of mine was able to pretty much eliminate that dip using a MAP ECU. The disco potatoes are a really nice option though, but I do hate all the intake piping for them. However, once you go piggy back, you can eliminate the MAF sensor to do a custom twin intake set-up and it kind of makes some of the piping seem less redundant.

You can always set the twins to be sequential or TTC with the flick of a switch. I believe there's a write-up on it on SupraForums.

Your fob squat skills need more work doe.....

let me know how that Duplicolor stuff holds up. The VHT I used on my calipers sucked balls and started coming off. I'm really close to pulling them and sending them off for powder coating.

Worry about the wheels later. Car needs moar low...and a name.....

Did the boost gauge just slide into the clock position or did you need to do some trimming? I might settle for a ProSport gauge if I can't find a good deal on a Defi set-up.

I'll let you know if I find anymore good deals on parts and pass'em along your way if I don't need'em. tongue.gif

Everything's looking good so far!

I just ordered my TRD sway bars btw! Can't wait for'em!

No need for the MAF with a piggyback? I figured it would take a standalone to delete the MAF. I may have to look into that. The boost gauge slid right in. Pretty perfect fit too. I used this same Duplicolor caliper paint on my IS300 5 years ago and they still look pretty good when I see it around. The rear calipers look great but the fronts are just now starting to chip. I used VHT on the Celica and it started flaking away almost immediately.

Also, you need to ship those TRD goodies to me. You have my address. Ren told me she'd prefer that I get TRD goodies.

This is my friend's IJM. MAP ECU 3, custom twin intake, MAF delete, TTC at the flick of a switch.

I wasn't a fan that most of the duplicolor paints i saw left it looking rough. I liked how the VHT gave the calipers a smoother, but ****tier, finish.

I've no idea what TRD stuff you're talking about.....I think you're just imagining things...

The Map ECUs main function is to delete the MAF and convert the system to use a MAP sensor only(hence the name lol) however it does not have many failsafes. I have so many of the parts in this thread sitting on my shelf waiting to be installed(Superdragger, map ecu, 2jz, etc etc) so you being a guinea pig is great biggrin.gif. We just recently picked up a friends car that has the upgraded twins and just had a PROEFI installed and man is it freakin sweet. The tuner upped the duty cycle on the first turbo to 11psi and almost eliminated the transition lag completely and it feels very similar to my 335i that has two of the same size turbos. The car made 400whp at 12psi(yes, 12psi) and 450whp at 14psi and it ran out of injector since we don't have time to put in the fuel system before Supras In Vegas. Next step is built auto, TRD dif and corn. If you do decide on the upgraded twins deal directly with Stu as he has a very close connection with the shop that physically bores and installs the wheels and he is an overall great guy to deal with. His car has over the 800whp mark with those turbos and now has swapped everything into his new QS car with a built engine, it will be interesting to see what it makes now.

As far as calipers go sanding and clearcoating goes a long way to help them not chip and look OEM.

I've spoke with Jason I think was his name a few times about a customer car thats supposed to get those turbos (as the stock are not rebuildable by garret) and he is a great guy to speak with, very knowledgeable and answered all my stupid questions perfectly.

Not much noteworthy progress, but I'm posting it here to keep a logos everything. Over the last few weeks I've gotten my leaky valve cover gaskets replaced. While that was apart, I put a manual boost controller on my exhaust bypass valve so I can control my first turbo. The boost controller I already have in place controls both turbos so I can run 18 lbs of boost, but that puts a strain on the second turbo as the system goes from 11.7 lbs to 18 lbs when the second turbo comes online. Putting the boost controller on my exhaust bypass valve allows me to spoil the first turbo up to 15 lbs which of course names more power before 4K rpm, reduces shock on the second turbo, and still allows time for prespool of the second turbo. No pictures of that, but it's definitely fun. Gas mileage is suffering but I didn't buy a Prius.

Moving on from that, I bought a rebuild kit for all four of my calipers as well as stainless braided lines.

I also received a package from Texas.

HKS coilovers! Yusssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait....

Wait, that's definitely not right.... Ngofcukinway that's right..... Alex has struck again.

He sent me some Eibach springs. No new struts yet so it'll be a while before they're on the car. I may test fit them for the lulz but my stock struts definitely can't take it for too long. Then he convinced me to spend more more money on rare parts.

SPORTY DRIVING PARTS!!!!!!!

The instructions were completely in Japanese and useless but I managed to figure out 6 nuts all by myself.

I haven't had time to rebuild the brake calipers or install the new lines yet. I'm close to finishing the remodel on my house and the MR2 I have in the driveway takes priority right now, but the strut bar made a big difference. Feels more stable all around, and much less chassis flex with the top off (although it's still pretty bad.) Haven't tested it in a corner yet. It's one of the last brand new strut bars left in the US, so that's pretty neat.
