yes, there is a fake blow-off valve noise maker you can buy. I believe one model is called the 'tsunami' or something to that extent. although I should warn you, if you buy one of those people will make fun of you to no end.

Not sure it would sound too good man. The purpose of a blow off is to release sompressed air the turbo it trying to push into the throttlebody when its closed (when you shift) so the air dosent come back down and damage the turbo itself. Im assuming you would have to have a lot of airflow coming in to the throttlebody to even consider something like this.. I dont know if jsut a standard CAI would provide adaquate airflow man..

I'm not one to normally slam, but man, no offense...but if there's a stereotype direction that "ricers" go into...you're headed into it. Like your profile says you wanna hit 250-350hp...but you're not willing to spend enough money to turbo ur car to get the real blow off valve sound? Kind of an oxymoron I'm thinking, because if you aren't willing to spend a g or two to get a turbo kit or swap in a 3sgte...then this would mean you wanna go all motor or something AND we all know you can't get that much power from the 5sfe doing mods under a grand. I don't know, man you gotta get your ideas and goals straight here. I'm trying not to be mean, and this is not the intention of the post either. Just some advice I guess to try and set your goals straight on a path and not say things that are complete opposites such as "I want 250-350 hp, but I don't wanna spend the money to get it there" lol...kinda funny I guess. But yeah man, you can check out that tsunami turbo thingy, it has a speaker and makes the sound at a certain rpm.
Also, that e-turbo I bought and tried out for everyone so they could all see it doesnt work, had a neat sound. It bogged down my car a lot and made it a bit slower, but you can get that and think you're gaining power and then you get the blow off sound too...for the same price as that tsunami thing. Whatever floats your boat I guess... But my honest opinion says why not actually save up for making the blow off valve a working part of a turbo system on your ride? You could either do a swap...or...you could turbocharge your 5sfe for not much more than a grand or grand and a half out of your pocket. And then you'll have some go to back up the show you're going for, or you could forget the turbo sound and spend the money on a body kit to actually make your car have a "show-car-esque" presence, cuz as it sits, it kinda looks stock and pretty much a starter car for any direction you wanna go whether it's show, some show/some go, or all go. the sound alone is pointless and annoying.

Yeah, and BTW...I gave in my post all constructive criticism. Ways to go about not to get laughed at, and I also gave you a few ideas on how to get the sound. In my opinion, you jumped the gun and need to take a chill pill. Honestly man, just chill out and you post saying you are expecting to get praise and hate, so don't get mad at the hate if you're expecting...because that's just contradicting yourself again. You need some help on getting away from that (ie: my first post in this thread I pointed out you contradicting yourself with your HP figures you wanted to reach without the will to spend even a g to get there). Man, I like what you've done with your car so far, with exception to the tail-lights, but that's just because I like the look of stockers. I honestly think you're car could be a very awesome ride if you just spent your money on the right things. Man the 200-300 dollars you would spend on that fake BOV could go towards the Veilside kit you say you want in your profile. I just think there's better ways to spend that kind of money man. You earned that 200-300 bucks, why spend it on something only 5% of the import scene will approve of and respect?

you dont NEED to spend a lot of money to turbo ur car, i have a 94 st an im puting a custom turbo kit on it myself for under like 200 bucks. its easy. jus dont get one of those dumb cheapass gizmos that make the sound yull get ragged on hardcore!!

When i'm driving my daily driver i can always get people to mess around a little bit, but when i'm in the 6gc and come up beside them and rev, they won't even look (partly because my exhaust is so loud it sets off car alarms daily in my work parking lot). That's the ricers anyways. The WRXs and Evo's around here usually rev back at you I've been wanting to race a ricer civic to see how much I beat them by on the highway, but no luck so far. The only time I raced one I lost by like 10 car lengths when my car was running on about 2 cylinders thanks to detonation (thank you JE pistons for holding up when even my spark plug insulators blew apart).- aba |

man just save some cash up and get a real turbo.. granted I'm not one for turboing a N/A motor unless you completley rebuild it but thats gonna be alot better than doing something fake...Key word - FAKE.
I see stuff on ebay all the time for dirt cheap to use for a turbo project on your motor - just do some research before you waste money man.' BTW for those that havent heard those fake BOV's They sound horrible and to neone that knows nething about cars you can tell really easily if its real or not... and trust me you will get laughed at for doing it, weither it be to your face or behind your back.. Dude, it's gotta be so boring hearing a blow-off valve and not feeling the power throwing you against your seat. Hell, my Supra spools so quick that I can stomp on the accelerator for 2-3 seconds, release it and the HKS Super Sequential will whistle without the car even moving forward some more...I hate that. In order to get what someone is saying you would have to know where they are comming from. MY idea was going to have purge valves that vent a CO2 bottle. I would think the same general idea would work for our friend here. The whole intimidation thing didn't work for you, maybe. But look at where I'm stationed (Louisiana). No one knows how to drive here in Shreveport/Bossier. I think my idea would work here at least. 9 out of 10 ricers here work from the outside, in with their cars anyways. all stock or minimally upgraded (cheap ass exaust tip) but looking like fast and the furious on the outside.
