it seems they are takin over the forums, and owners are just making money, and then placing ads all over the placed and charging 300 a year for vendors and what not... seriously?

Yep, AdBlock/Plus takes care of any advertising. Of course this is "against the rules" of all of these forums, and that you should be a "financially contributing member" in order to enjoy an ad-free site. Of course they have no way of proving you are using an ad-blocker, so **** them. Of course this is really the only forum I frequent anymore, I've yet to bother with getting involved with a Firebird or F-body group because meh...

False. I've actually been approached by a couple companies who buy up forums and load them up with ads, but I hate that experience and wouldn't wish to force that upon anyone else.

You know that if you had sold your website back in 09 before I joined, I might have never even bought my celica. I enjoyed this site for how it is and how it's stayed, and I appreciate that you maintain it as such.

It seems the facebook group has more activity than here.
Did an update on my progress thread, for the first time in over 3 years, and no one, excep tmy two buddies in winnipeg replied, and they already knew what was happening.

Don't forget the MR2 and AE86. I think the site would have more enthusiasm if it were all Celica generations and not just the 6th gen. First gens have a solid following I'd imagine, the 4th and 5th the All-Trac was available here, and the 7th gen has the GT-S. I think the biggest issue is most don't see the Celica as an enthusiast's vehicle for whatever reason, yet somehow a Civic is...

Who knows, I remember coming across a few Mustang forums that were pretty much dead and if any car should be able to keep a forum going it'd be the Mustang. I even went to HondaTech and I was surprised at the level of activity, especially considering it's for all Honda and Acura vehicles. Part of it could be the switch in social medias for most users, especially those that're younger. Probably a lot easier and more convenient for people to use things like facebook groups, especially if they're doing events all the time and wanting to keep things local. I've noticed on a few other forums it's always the same group of people usually, it's just the forums that appear more busy just have more usuals making posts every day.

Its summer, every single year all the forums die off during summer and come back during winter. I know I am putting off the celica build until AT LEAST it starts raining, if not longer.

Both the major Supra Forums are dying as well. They are not even close to as dead as 6gc.net, but its really apples to oranges. The bmw forums are going strong!

I still try to steer people onto the forums here but it gets repetitive and tiring.

Facebook, lol, its their loss. Classic-celica dissapeared and mostly on facebook now. There is no good documentation that way. People get titred to talk to themselves. Mostly reason i dont post.
