Looks SWEET!

Only thing that i was concerned with when i did mine, the AFM being sideways like that, I am unsure if it effects the flap inside? IDK for sure it may not do ne thing.

Hey man I see you reving to 7 grand?!? To conserve your engine and to get the best performance, the 3sgte reaches peak power at 3k, so shifting anywhere after 5-5.5k will just lose you acceleration and not to mention unesecary stress on the engine, just passing on a bit of knowledge Ive picked up. biggrin.gif

This has been discussed a lot concering the 1.6l miatas with the same style AFM. Most people have no problem with them like that, some have to change the spring tension. As long as its running fine and your AFR is ok, then don't worry about it.

I think you're thinking of peak torque. Peak power is somwhere over 5500, probably at least a 6 or 6500. There is absolutely nothing wrong with revving it to its stock fuel cut as long as you change the oil on a regular basis and your oiling system is in good condition (i.e. you have decent pressure all the time). I redline or bounce the rev limiter on my cars every single day and its never caused a problem. To acheive the best performance you should be shifting somewhere at, or just after the power peak so that when the revs drop, you'll be right at the peak torque. If you're really doing it right, you'll shift a few hundred rpm lower for every upshift you do, this keeps the car between peak power and peak torque and gives you the most 'area under the curve' therefore the best acceleration.

Peak power at 3k.... what are we driving mustangs??? my 3sgte's peak power is at 5.9k according to dyno... peak torque at 4.8k ,you should shift about 6.4-6.9k so you make use of the engine being at peak power, you dont wanna reach peak power then shift rightaway before making good use of it.

So sorry, peak torque. Ive read and from experience that with a stock ct26, power starts falling off around 5500. When I first bought my mr2 I would redline it to try and get the best acceleration but found around 5500 acceleration dropped off. Thats my experience and it confirms what Ive read. But whatever

reguardless revving to 7k in neutral or with the clutch engauged is not very smart...

I was just reading your info, you have a 3rd gen 3sgte which Im sure peaks higher in the power band then the 2nd gen

i know when not to shift at redline, ive always shifter where the stock reldine on my gauge is, about 6300rpm.

and theres nothing wrong reving my motor to 7k with the car fully warmed up in neutral. this was the first time ive ever dont it so i dont do it alot (aka EVER) and it was there for a whopping 1.5 seconds.

total cost of project with everything including car and visaul mods about 10k
