I posted this in the thread I just put up in buying and selling but I should post it here since it's more of a website idea. I see a lot of new topics each week related to 6gen stuff for sale on ebay. What if we made a sticky at the top of the Buying/Selling forum that would be specifically for posting things of interest to us on ebay. Then, a mod could be put in charge of deleting posts when the auction is ended. If you wante to do this and no one wanted to take the responsibility of delting the old auctions, I will volunteer to do it.

Anyways, just an idea for you Coomer.

1. I agree on the bidding wars, most people on here want to buy cheap not expensive.People will be posting links to stuff they don't even want, thinking they are being helpful, but they are just raising the amount of bids that item will get.

2. Somebody might think we know or have researched the item, and think it is being sold by a reputable seller, only to find out differently after they have won.First time someone gets ripped off because of one of these links, and bye-bye new members.

3. It's just as easy to search Ebay yourself for what you need.

4.The buy/sell board will dry up.People will see that they can make alot more money putting their stuff on Ebay, and having a link to that auction on here only promotes it more.

Some of you people better think this stuff over before you get what you want, and hurt your chances of getting cheap parts here on this board. The more items you post about, the more people will see them and bid them up.

I personally would'nt post any Ebay auction on this board of something I want to buy, because some other visitor or board member will see it and could start a bidding war making my chances of winning harder and more expensive.

The only auctions I would post on this board are of items I have seen that somebody else has posted about looking for, just to help them find something they have missed.Hopefully, it won't be something some other board member has the high bid on though.

1. Yes bidding wars may happen, but then again there may be potential bidders that didn't know about the parts for sale and now they have an equal chance at winning.

2. Just because I post a link or anyone else for that matter, doesn't mean that we are saying "hey go buy this right now!" we are saying "go check this out, seems like a good deal, is worth checking out". Actually I think I see a comment similar to the second one on every posting of an ebay link. Never does it say "Hey! This is so cheap go buy it now or else!" Members here are always very careful about making sure people buying stuff know they're taking a risk, as is anyone that uses ebay for anything. You should know that before buying anything off of ebay in the first place.

As well, wouldn't the same thing apply to our own Buying/Selling forum? If a new member comes on here and gets ripped off by one of our own members, I'd think they'd leave. I actually think that they'd bemorelikely to leave if they got ripped off by someone actually from this site other than an ebay link where the seller isn't necessarily associated with the site.

3. It is easy to do an ebay search, but in times where people are looking for specific parts or maybe at the time they aren't really looking to buy anything, but if a deal comes along on something and they just can't pass it up...why not let them know about it.

4. The whole point of my entie idea was to tidy up the Buying/Selling forum so we don't have countless of new threads each week created for one ebay link. It'snot going to dry our board up, as members from here that do put their stuff on ebay always post a link to it. In this case, they could post a link to the stuff they are selling in the one thread made for ebay links.

I hope I correctly argued back showing the pro side of this issue. I'm not trying to detract attention to the regular buying/selling forum...only clean it up.
