Hey guys,

I know i can count on 6GC for this one. I have a 94 Celi and I bought a kit online. Now I read that 94 - 95 needs 404 kit and the 96+ uses 404a. If I got the 404a, is it possible to "make" it fit on my car? I guess what im trying to say is how are these two body types different?

Thanks

Here is the '94 and '95 front end:

And here is the '96+ front end:

As you can see, the two are quite different. You're much better off just buying the front lip that fits your car, or upgrading to the '96+ front end(which bolts right on) and then installing the 404a lip. wink.gif

well technically the only difference is the turn signals. you can still buy a 95 front bumper and bolt up fine to a 99 but hte turn signals wont work. i think the reason erbuni made differnet kits was because of the turn signal issue. but ill tell you for sure when i buy it and test it out. biggrin.gif

The turn signals are different, but remember, the 404 or 404a lip is just that, only a lip that adds on to the bottom of the bumper. wink.gif

Also, the front bumpers are more different than just having different turn signals. If you look at that very bottom edge, you can see how on the newer bumpers, it bulges out where the posts come down. On the '94 and '95 bumpers, it's smooth in that area.

Also, you can see from the photos above that the number of posts, and post arrangement is very different. wink.gif

Also, chaning turn signals is incredibly easy. Two screws and twisting in a new harness connector on each side is all that's required to do this. wink.gif

Well, It will take a lot of work to make the 404a lip to fit on a 94-95 front. Just sell the lip and get the right lip for the car.

Maybe. Is your car a hatchback? The rear bumpers and lips of body kits are designed only to fit the hatchback Celicas, and not the coupes or convertibles.

Well, the very bottom horizontal piece of the bumper is different as well. Notice in the pictures above how it bulges out on the '96+ front bumpers, and how it doesn't on the '94 and '95 bumpers. wink.gif

Also, yes, you can buy a '96-'99 front bumper and turn signals, and put it on your '94 or '95 Celica. A couple members have done this before. Everything bolts right up.

As said above, yes, it will fit just fine. You'll need the bumper and the turn signals, and then you just take off the old bumper, put on the new one, and then switch the turn signals. smile.gif
