I know alot of people on the board have 215/45/17 tires. I was wondering if anyone has tried 225s (7.5 inch wheels) and whether there were any rubbing issues with a moderate (1-1.5 inch) drop. Also, what performance differences can I expect?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

im fairly certain you will be fine not to rub. and the performance gains will be based soley on the tire model you choose.

definetly 215/45. or if you have relatively good roads in your area a 215/40 wouldn't be bad either.

What are your reservations about the 225s Ghost Dog? Performance or fitment?

215's are perfect on these cars...you dont want to get too beefy of a tire cause the car isnt too beefy.

both. with that size your going to get some tirewall flex and since it is somewhat larger than stock your speedo will be off and acceleration will be slower. stick with 215/45, which look the best imo

or go with a 215/40 if you have mostly good roads in your area and don't mind the diminished ride quality
