whats the reason for cars backfiring? my friend's jetta's backfire is so loud. it sounds like gunshots. watchout if you hear gunshots coming around a turn it's probably him. it's irritating though. i don't know what kind of exhaust to put on my car just yet. but i wouldn't want no damn backfire. and i don't like those bumble bee fart can universal n1s or any alike. when cars with n1s gas em sounds like a tuba.

If you like power, you will get it.

Normally, cars will back fire when push hard and quickshift through the gear. The standard exhaust muffled this down and provide enough back pressure to keep this from happening

The more richer the fuel mixture and the more advance the timing, you will get more back fire.

You have a number of options for exhaust.

Know your price range, and there is a wide selection out there like apex N1, HKS, VeilSide, Greddy, Blitz, Tanabe and so on.

If you like good sound (not ricey or bumblebee) get the greddy sp system or get 2.25 inch piping from your local exhaust place and a veilside teardrop muffler. I have that and it sounds amazing.
