I have a 94 and I just replaced mine. They were probably bad for at least a year before I got around to it. I noticed a lot of "body roll" when going around corners. It's much tighter now that I've swapped them. Hell, if you're going to all the trouble to take them apart, I'd just do it anyways, even if you're not sure. KYBs will only cost you around 250 shipped from Tire Rack.

bounce the front or rear of the car up and down. if it keeps bouncing your shocks are bad. if it dampens quickly they are more than likely okay.

when u take them off look to see if they are leaking or if you compress them and they dont come back up then they are bad.

A new strut is kind of hard to compress but it can still be pushed down some by hand... Wore out ones are very easy to press down and they wont come back up.

i just replaced my rear struts...i am getting clunking from the rear so i figured i would need new ones because they are stock with 156k. Well, one of the rear ones was totally shot, the other had alittle life left in it. Anyways, i still have some clunking. Im pretty sure its the sway bar bushings. I will get them on this weekend and see.

Have they been replaced? If not, replace them. If they're not bad now, they'll be bad soon.
When you unscrew the inserts and they bleed all over you, you'll be convinced. -------------------- ![]() |
