Alright I had a thought. Most people complain a ton about the cost of the JDM 3s swaps. What if instead of importing a 3s to the U.S. you pulled the motor out of a 5th gen all-track. I would assume it would bolt right up, right? Would the wirring also be easier since your swaping from a left hand drive to a left hand drive? If all this were true, I think that it would be cheaper, granted you would only have about 200hp compaired to the might JDM 3s's

I havn't ever seen this discussed on here, and always wondered about it.
Sorry if this has already been discused buy I couldn't find it, and didn't see anything searching for it.

Its been discussed here. But USDM 3SGTE's are usually pretty beat up and JDM engines can be easily found with lower mileage.

the harness would not have to be extended but other than that, its the same engine

alltracs are rare, let alone a wrecked one you could pull the engine from

it would cost more than to get a JDM engine, which bolts in the same, and have Qatar do your wiring

the only other benifit is that the engine would be a US engine and pass visual smog checks, but the clerks are too dumb to spot a JDM engine anyway

why would you post with no explanation....? you propose making an additional hole in the drivers side of the firewall and mounting the ECU on the drivers side? or did you mean something else?
