I was reading an aticle, and if i can find it (it was on the internet), i'll post the link. But this article said my '98 GT has more horsepower at the wheel's than my "placed in car heaven" '95 GT. Has anybody else read or heard this?

A '95 and a '98 GT had the same amount of horsepower from the factory. The '98 is more likely to have more horsepower now, due to the fact that it's a newer engine and presumably would have lower miles. wink.gif

Of course, as an engine is produced, it's kinda refined too... not to mention the engine's relationship with a car. While the official numbers are the same- I wouldn't be surprised that a 95 GT and a 97 GT- if compared with the same number of miles and driving habits- had a slight difference in hp at the wheels.

Then there's those freak cars from the factory. Anyone know a buddy with a stock car that's usaully quick? I have a buddy who had a 98 S14 and only had an apexi dual on it. (now hes boosted on the KA engine and running 12s) He took it to the track and ran a 15.8 on all season tires. Not bad for a car that runs mid 16s stock

California Versions had less HP (130 as opposed to 135) in all models both OBD1 and OBD2 because of emission regulations...

"Two dual-overhead-cam 4-cylinder engines powered Celicas in this generation: 1.8-liter for the ST, and 2.2-liter for the GT. The GT's engine rose from 130 to 135 horsepower for 1997. Either might have a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic. "

My moms camry, for some strange reason, came with all wheel disc brakes. I remember when she got it (it's a 94 with like 43k miles) she never asked for the all wheel disc. I don't even remember if they were an option. The guys at toyota kinda took a 2nd look at it because I guess it's pretty unusual to see that. I wish it was faster from the factory, but still, i guess you could consider it a freak.
