Hello again guys!!!
I have few photos to share with you from our last Celica Club Cyprus Meeting.
We count the cars and was 133 Celicas!!!!!If you consider that we are a small island with around 600000 population then we talking about the biggest Celica Event:)

WOW! So many...so little time. In your second post pictures 3 and 4, what spoiler is on the black Celica...it looks like a variant of the TRD one...So many white and black Celicas, wheres the other colors, besides that yellow/orange monstrosity.

We have many other colors but we put infront 1st the blacks and 2nd the whites,later on are coming the other colors!! If you are lucky then you got a black or White!!!HAHAHA

That's so awesome! We were happy just to get eight Celicas at our Northwest meet.

So how does everyone find out about these meets? Is there a Cyprus Celica club, or a Cypress-specific website, or is it just through word of mouth and stuff?

Coom about this yes we have a Celica Club in Cyprus(i'm the owner actually) and we arrange every 2-3 months meetings:) WE ARE MANY PEOPLE BEHIND THIS EVENTS WITH A LOT OF MADNESS and love for our cars:) We calling everybody,we have a big database with the names,reg numbers,colors,trim etc and we are calling them when we decide for the events,for example this month on 27 we have our next meeting at AYIA NAPA:)
So guys if you decide to visit Cyprus then you are just one trip from Heaven!!!

Actually the 6gc was not even sold by Toyota in Cyprus so that thing regarding only white and black Celis being sold in Cyprus is wrong. All the cars you see there were imported used from Japan. The reason was that our custom duties were based on the value of the cars imported so the duties paid for a used car are less than half than a brand new car. For the Celi specifically we are talking about a difference in duties of more than $10k

Hey Magic, you should not focus on black and white celis just because your celi is Black. what about the silvers and the blues and the reds. Especially since my silver GT4 was there and a silver swap 3SGTE was parked next to me.

Well lets start now and get one ready for next summer. and everyone needs to just get serious and take the time off to get to this meet. It would be sweet to have a 100 car turn out. And since there are people on both sides of the country locate it somewhere in the middle so everyone can go about the same distance.

Back during the c.net days I had a huge thread analyzing the distribution of celica owners (that frequented that board) and it ended up that the fairest location to have a national meet, that factored in distance traveled vs distribution of ownership, would've been in Ohio. Of course that pissed everyone on the west coast off and they would have none of it. Trust me, I'm a geographer.

Of course that was all gen celicas... the 6gc distributions would probably be different.

haha sounds like the big euro one us lot are having.
You'll have to do it on the same weekend as ours then we'll have a competition on number of cars, best photos etc.

still pretty sweet after 2 years. plus some of us weren't around 2 years ago. and it'd be awesome to have a huge US meet. is it possible? yes. but likely? not really. it'll be easier to have a huge EC and WC meet at the same time and just photoshop all the cars together.
