as long as the swap was done correctly, everything should be ok.

Yup. You car might get messed up at parties and clubs though, but not from the motor.

so if a mechanic does the swap for me its a good bet that the car will run well?

That depends on the mechanic. Make sure that if you take it to a shop, they know how to do Toyota engine swaps and engine wiring and stuff. Lots of shops can do Honda/Acura swaps without problems, but when it comes to a Toyota they might have trouble. My mechanic swapped a F22 to a H22 overnight, but my swap took over six months.

Oh, and I wouldn't think that a swapping a 3S-GTE into a Celica will make it undrivable on a daily basis. Unless you do some crazy engine modifications such as a 6 lb. racing flywheel or some seriously upgraded camshafts, you'll probably be fine. Lots of old ladies even drive cars with 3S-GTEs in them. wink.gif

I have a swap too, and although it's not the 3S-GTE, I know that my car is still my daily driver. You wouldn't get into the car and think it's stock due to the solid motor mount and lightweight flywheel, but it's still daily-drivable. smile.gif

coomer how is the lighten flywheel working? are you use to it yet?

I dont have a 3sgte but one of the problems I had with a swaped car ( b16 crx ) was the loud exhaust and the lighten flywheel made it difficult to drive. The coil over suspentions made the ride quality horrible. The clutch was extra hard to push down. Its just less user friendly,

if you use a swapped car as a dailiy driver then you will wear out the engine faster.

those are the only reason i can see not to use a swapped car as a dialy driver.

The lightweight flywheel is OK. I'm used to it, but I still don't like it much. Though I'm guessing that if I went back to stock, the car would rev up noticably slower, which would kind of suck too.

And yeah, if you use a swapped car as a daily driver, the engine will wear out faster, but that's true for every car you drive. It's a Toyota engine, and will last forever as long as its been taken care of and continues to be taken care of. smile.gif
