My Celica over the years(PAINTED!!!), some pix Options

Well, i figured i would post what my car started out as, and then thru the years to now.

I bought My 99 Celica GT back in May of 01 for close to $20k fully loaded w/o leather with only 20k miles.
After a couple weeks i added tint, eye browl, and a muffler.


After that i got my rims and some Weapon R coilovers. also while the car was in the shop getting a dent removed, i had the antenna and wing shaved.


A while after that it was time for something new, so i got some vinyal from Modern Image.


The vinyal got to be too much, so i took it off and got an aluminum wing and made my first set of clear taillights.



A while later it was time for some new vinyal.
Back to Modern Image i go. this time for something not as big.


getting to last year, i finally got the money to get a lip kit, wing and a custom hood.


Closer to the end of last year, i got an air ride kit from blowJax.



NOW!!!
New body kit and rims.
New paint is comming REAL soon

I agree with the other guys,you should stay with the style that you just install the custom hood i like very much that look,not so extreme and WILD:)

You would have saved a lot of money if you had just knew what you were going for in the very beginning and stuck with it, instead of getting 3 different wings and different body kits and the 2 vinyal things...but it all seemed to turn out good in the end

I kept the hood and wing. I really didn't want to, but everyone loves how they look on the car so ill prolly keep them.


if i were to add up all the different stuff over the years:
5 different CD players (paid no less then $200 for each of them)
4 different sets of rims
3 different lowering setups
3 system setups
2 paint jobs (going into 3 paint jobs)
2 body kits
1 wing
1 hood
JDM headlights and tails(all know is alot of money)


i went thru all the changes cause i didn't really know what i wanted.
i liked the lip kit cause it made the car. looked almost stock.
now i got a job im wanting to go all out and wild for this year.
next year ill prolly change something.
i can't stop modding.

You've gone through all those changes in 3 years? Are you bi-polar? Looks good though, I'd like to see it with the new paint on it. I'm lovin the air shocks. What did that run you?

the air ride ran me close to $3k installed.

performance is just a header, 2.5" catback and a CAI.
later i might just bolt on a turbo or get a 65 shot of Zex.

i worked b4 i got my new job.
in my off time i buy cheap cars, fix them up and sell for under book value.

to get the lip kit, wing, hood and paint work, i bought a car for $800 installed a new turbo and added some aftermarket and turned around and sold it for $2800.

its gonan be a new color.
no more red
gonna be my other favorite color.

i really have to change that.
my projectors took longet to get then i thought, meaning i can't get my car in the shop till i get them.
im not gonna paint the car then take the bumper back off to replace headlights. my luck id screw something up.

i should get my lights monday, then im hoping to get the car in the shop sometime that week.

im still trying to come up with the $1500

I have to agree with Akimbo... I kind of like that wing, actually I think I like it more than your current one! Should be a hot ride either way, can't wait to see the finished pics Phat. And MAKE SURE you come up to Findlay next year!

My girl drives a 94 Probe GT
we r working on it piece by piece.

the paint is gonna be a secret
its not gonna be red, i can tell u that.
i picked my color, and told the painter to play with the colors and give me something bitchin.

the rims r Speedy Hyper Fangs.
rare 18" rim
i checked the manufacturer and the biggest rim they had was 17".

they ran me $500 shipped from another car forum.
Not a scratch or blemish on them either.

nah, whats your old color called? I would like to get it for my paint job i'm fixing to do. Do you know what mixtures it is and what types of brand. I can get it mixed easily. My friends dad is a chemist for House of Kolor paint so he would be able to get it close. thanks

well, they finally started working on my car this past monday.

should be done by this comming Friday.

Couple BAD pics of the car in the shop.


the passengers side skirt is fitted, rear bumper is getting fitted.
He was working on the front till he found out the jackass the works there lost the saw he needs.
had to buy a new on that gets there monday.
until then, the side and rear look great.

its take so long cause i was not told that there were 4 other car ahead of mine.
i dropped it off and was told a couple days later that there were some cars that needed to get finished first.
its good they started now, cause it took forever for me to decide on a color.

there is no interior. seats and a dash that it. seats r comming out soon anyways to get recovered.

i left the rims on cause i didn't have any other rims to put on(sold stockers)
i trust the guy, he knows what hes doing so i know the rims will be OK.

BAD:
car still isn't finished. I have to pick a different shade of blue.
car won't be finished till at least the 3rd of sept.

GOOD:
Once the car is finished im going to Marion County fairgrounds on sept 4th and 5th for a show.
While im there im getting pics taken for Gauge Magazine.

the guy is really pissing me off.
now he wants to do something to the doors.
he says if i don't shave the doors or get lambo doors it could take points away at shows.
the car still hasn't been touched. its looked the same as it did 2 months ago when i droppped it off.

i was suppose to get it back on thursday, i went to hopefully pick it up and it wasn't done.

guess its not gonna get done till i decided what im doing with the doors.
i was gonna go today and talk to them, but they all left for the weekend for a show in Indy. the one i was suppose to go to.

front is fit, primed and ready to be sanded down. same with the other fender.
side is completely fit as is one side of the rear bumper.
im stopping in monday to see what its gonna cost to get the doors shaved and poppers installed.

i told the guy id like to drive it B4 i put it away on halloween.
he said no problem. that means i won't get it back till after then.

hatchback celica very low profile with 18" enkei rims rear disk brakes, no wing, looks like a supra.

I saw a nice celica speeding up past me on the highway, it was a light baby metal blue, the color you see on new VWs, all it had. was a front lip, sideskirts and rear lip, no wing, very low profile. Looked so clean, and like it was a expensive european car.

Body kit is primered and ready.
tomorrow they r doing my jams. Hopefully sunday or monday its getting painted.

well, stopped in the shop today after work.
front and sides r painted. he was having some problem with fisheyes on the sides, but fixed it.

Only one thing is VERY disapointing right now.
My color blue is just a lil lighter then this:

i was thinking about getting those rims cause im doing a blue and CF look, and i think the black w/polish lip would look awesome.

Guess i know it does look awesome with the blue.

i guess it will still be good, i have a CF invader hood, TRD CF wing, and projectors, so i guess ill still be different.

i have given up on the Celica.
it can stay there till spring for all i care.

problems now is there is no heat in the building and the landlord won't fix it.
electric is bad too.

id rather keep it there for the winter anyways. keeps it out of my way.

UPDATES!!!
Long story short, i almost lost the celica due to some asshole family members. I sill might.
But B4 it goes im finishing it and getting pics.

im going in later today to see the car get painted. its value shaded, so all thats next is to paint it and clear it. He is gonna paint it after 3pm today, go to lunch and then clear it and let it sit over night. then start on the front nose. something in the gelcoat is making the paint bubble up in a spot. There is a DUpont rep comming down to look at it.
ill hopefully get some pics up of it painted in the booth, but dont get your hopes up. u should know my luck.
