so my mechanic installed the prokit on my 94 celica. for some reason the front springs are not staying set in the struts. when he turns the wheel, you can here the springs moving. this guy knows how to put springs in and he reinstalled the springs 3 times and he is getting the same result. i just bought new front and rear stock struts and i don't want to get new ones. any ideas or does eibach just not make a good spring.

I would verify that the springs are correct. I bought TRD springs and the company sent me the springs for the MR2 first. They came in the Celica box but they were the wrong units.

I had no problems with the Eibach Sportlines that I installed (along with a certified Toyota mechanic).

ok, i bought H&R's and they're doing the same thing. they are moving around in the front when im turning the wheels. the car also does not look lowered. i just bought stock front and rear shocks. are they to stiff for the springs?

My teins are doing the same thing. First make sure the arrows on the tops mounts and facing outwards. Also make sure the bearings inside the mounts are greased up..Before putting the whole strut/spring back on the car make sure the top mount/bearing assembly moves freely without binding up. Im going to have to take mine off again to check all of these. Im also going to put alittle grease on the first few top coils of the springs.

my mechanic is saying that its the upper tower bearing. the top part where the spring is supposed to lock in. the springs do not lock in on the top. the car is dropping but when you turn the wheels the spring moves.

this sound like you guy arent locking the mount to the top of the shock.
if you look at the top of the shaft on the shock you'll see its notched you have to lock the top of the mount to that notch. make sure the shock is seated correctly to the top mount. or maybe you have the front springs on the back and the backs on the front. I've never hear of this problem mine was 123..... check if the springs are for your car and check if they are in the right part of the car ![]() hope that helps DEF This post has been edited by defgeph: Jul 15, 2004 - 6:02 PM -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |
