 Protectin' the Ride, Any Suggestions? |

Not long after I bought my car somebody keyed it all down the side... Now that I'm about to repaint the car with kandy's and metalflake, I really want to do everything I can to protect my car. I mean, I'm spending over $600 just on the paint, and I don't want somebody to ruin all of my hard work in a moment. What could I do to keep my ride safe??

Yea I don't know, I've already fixed 25 minor dings in my doors! They all seem to be from people hitting the door with their door in parking lots.

Park at the end of parking lots way away from the other cars. Park under lights(and closer to people/stores, but still away from other cars) at night, park/get seated accordingly at restaurants so that you can keep an eye on the car from a window. Don't leave your car in unsafe or shady places, keep in in a garage or under a cover at night at your house, etc.

get flame throwes all around and when someone gets within about a 2 foot radius they go off... thats what i would do

park in the last spot in a row and as far away from the next spot as possible without being over the end line. BUT, do not do one of those parking jobs where you take two or, God forbid, four spaces - especially in a busy parking lot. That makes some people mad enough to go after your car.

I go to several grocery stores every day during work (I work for Coca-Cola), and I am one of those people who takes up two spots! They're so crowded that somebody will see someone doing something to your car, but not so busy that nobody will care if I take up two spots. Plus, in two months of parking "correctly," even in the back, I still got several (and by several, I mean like 12) door dings in my car.
Apparently, even if I park in the very back of parking lots, people will still park next to me. Therefore, I just started taking up two spots. I won't do it, though, if I go to Best Buy, or something like that. I'll just park in the back, because for some reason, the people that shop there are more respectable towards other people's cars. Cliff notes: I park crooked every day almost everywhere because no matter where I park people will still park next to my car. I'm a magnet to door dings. --------------------  |

Isn't it weird how that works...there's no-one in the area of the parking lot where I park, but I'll come out of a store and there'll be someone parked next to me...maybe to get a closer look at the car or something...who knows... -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

it's a mystery coomer
it happens everywhere park out of the way, and the people will come i actually have gotten no door dings since i bought the door, i do however have a rear-1/4-panel ding from a dumass friend leaning on the car. very subtle my advice to protect it is. get a beater  there is really nowhere a car is safe and with a car cover, sometimes drunk a-holes might think "rice burner" and break stuff just to be kewl...if that even makes sense. anyways, yea...GL --------------------  |
